Job Description

This role offers an opportunity to lead large-scale, high-visibility technology initiatives that shape the next generation of a major subscription program. As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you drive complex, cross-functional programs that support customer acquisition, payments, customer experience, international expansion, and variations of the core offering. You collaborate closely with software engineering and business teams across the organization to define, plan, and deliver innovative solutions that achieve strategic business goals, while working with a broad range of systems and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, high-value technical programs that have significant strategic impact on the subscription business.
  • Partner directly with multiple software engineering teams to define program scope, requirements, and technical approaches that align with business objectives.
  • Drive program planning activities, including defining milestones, creating detailed roadmaps, and establishing clear timelines for delivery.
  • Manage cross-functional initiatives by coordinating work across engineering, product, and other stakeholder teams to ensure cohesive and timely execution.
  • Build and refine sustainable processes for program execution, including mechanisms for tracking progress, managing dependencies, and coordinating release schedules.
  • Oversee project management disciplines such as scope management, schedule management, budget awareness, quality assurance, risk management, and critical path analysis.
  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) that support multi-million dollar business outcomes.
  • Communicate program status, risks, and trade-offs clearly and regularly to Senior leadership and stakeholders, providing data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Identify and resolve issues and blockers proactively by working closely with engineering and business partners to keep programs on track.
  • Leverage your software development background to understand technical designs, evaluate trade-offs, and support teams in making sound architectural decisions.
  • Continuously improve program management practices by implementing best practices, standardizing processes, and driving operational excellence across teams.
  • Collaborate with multiple software engineering and product teams to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with long-term technology strategy.
Essential Skills
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 5+ years of technical program management experience working directly with software engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of software development experience, with the ability to understand technical designs and trade-offs.
  • Proven experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, including engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and implement processes that support effective program execution and release coordination.
  • Strong technical program management skills, including roadmap planning, dependency management, and risk mitigation.
  • Experience working with multiple software engineering or product teams on complex, distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience applying project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk, and critical path management.
  • Experience managing projects and programs across cross-functional teams while building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience defining KPIs and SLAs used to manage and grow multi-million dollar businesses.
  • Experience reporting program status, metrics, and outcomes to Senior leadership.
  • Motivation to work on highly visible, impactful initiatives with potential for long-term engagement and conversion.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple concurrent initiatives.
Work Environment

This position operates in a professional, technology-driven environment with close collaboration between technical and business teams. The role follows a standard weekday schedule, with typical hours of Monday through Friday, either 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Pacific Time. You work with a broad range of software systems and technologies, partnering with multiple engineering and product teams across the organization. The environment emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, structured program management practices, and data-driven decision-making.

This is a Contract position based out of Vancouver, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr.
