Job description

A client of ours has an immediate need for an IS Sr Project Manager with a focus on Marketing and Data Analytics related domains. The IS Sr Project Manager works under minimal supervision to plan, direct and coordinate activities of large, long-term, inter-departmental infrastructure or development project(s) to ensure goals and objectives of the project(s) are accomplished within prescribed timeframe and budgetary parameters.
This is a hybrid position to facilitate with the team and colleagues in-person at client headquarters in Freeport, Maine 3 days a week and work from home the other 2 days, for local candidates. Remote candidates will be considered. Candidates must have recent, real-world agile project management experience. The initial contract is 6 months with the possibility of an extension based on performance.
Responsibilities:
Communication and Presentation
o Keeps stakeholders, including management, informed of progress to goal; negotiate adjustments to the schedule and resources to ensure overall quality of completed project
o Functions as central point for all project communications
o Leverages most effective means of communication based on situation/urgency
o Develops and delivers presentation content to drive understanding and alignment across Team and Project Sponsors (Governance structure)
Establishes Effective Project Governance
o Identifies and facilitates acquiring a Sponsor role that is executed at the appropriate level of the organization
o Identifies and facilitates acquiring a Steering Group that is supporting/influencing the Sponsor while representing cross-functional perspective with common project goals
o Identifies and facilitates acquiring a Stakeholder Group that represents and can influence project direction and deliverables
Vendor Management
o Collaborates to develop a positive relationship between client and vendor(s) to ensure successful project deliverables.
o Negotiates contracts and Non-Disclosure Agreements with vendors and monitors project deliverables. Transitions vendor contracts to internal support owner to ensure understanding and compliance with service level agreements.
o Tracks and maintains vendor deliverable costs
Risk Management
o Identifies & analyzes project risks to determine highest potential risk exposure that should be proactively managed
o Identifies & focuses resolution of issues and risks using appropriate levels of escalation considering impact to scope, schedule, budget or quality.
Project Detail and Schedules
o Develops a project work breakdown structure
o Develops and manages a project schedule/timeline using approved Project Management tools (WorkOtter, Jira, SharePoint, etc.)
o Develops, monitors, and manages the project staffing plan and resource allocations approved by resource managers
o Determines Resource Assignments with task estimates (ETC's)
o Use negotiation skills to balance completing work with resources needed to achieve project success
Project Financials
o Develops a project budget and track actual and forecasts weekly
o Manage project budget in Excel and Work Otter for financials and resource allocation
Skills & Qualifications:
โ€ข Strong hands-on project management & Scrum Master skills - at least 5 years of experience managing complex IT efforts.
โ€ข Management of large teams with members working in multiple locations.
โ€ข Experience structuring work into various workstreams within a large project and managing multiple IT projects concurrently.
โ€ข Strong applied use of PM & Scrum tools/techniques (planning, risk management, budgeting, cost control, assessment, software/SaaS acquisition/RFP, develop & management of Jira board, Scrum ceremonies, etc.).
โ€ข Experience with vendor contracts and vendor management.
โ€ข Excellent communication skills (oral and written), English-language skills, facilitation skills, etc. and ability to represent work at all levels of the organization (up to Executive levels).
โ€ข Excellent people skills - developing strong relationships, building a trusting team environment, and ability to listen & translate into actionable plans.
Experience with the following is desired, but not mandatory:
โ€ข Cloud Data Platforms in support of Marketing, Customer Analytics & Personalization in an omni-channel retail environment.
โ€ข WorkOtter, Jira, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint.
โ€ข Understand business process transformation and change management practices.
