Reporting to the Regional SPO Head, the non-Technical Program Director will work with the newly expanded Field Service Organization (FSO) Strategic Program Office (SPO), which is focused on strategic projects and program management. This role will lead the Central Operations team, which is responsible for supporting the SPO and facilitating cadence and alignment with FSO site leaders and administrators to enable the organization to successfully execute its strategy.

The role will help develop and design supporting materials for effective communication across FSO teams, as well as with other internal local and headquarters stakeholders, to help drive organizational priorities and deliver the DOW. At a time of significant growth and transformation within Applied Materials, this is a critical role, and the individual in this position will be a key member of the regional FSO team.

This position will be located in AMNA, with a preference for Austin, Phoenix, Hillsboro, Richardson, or Boise.

KeyResponsibilites:

  • Provides leadership within the team and functional areas that deliver strategic focus to the AGS FSO.

  • Works closely with the FSO team to provide guidance and co-develop quarterly operational reports that meet and exceed company expectations.

  • Ensuresoperationalobjectivesare implemented and executed effectively by FSO leaders, resulting in the successful achievement of SPO KPI and productivity project/programobjectives.

  • Maintains full responsibility for headcount management within the FSO team, including Customer Engineers, Field Managers, and Site Operations Administrators, ensuringappropriate headcountallocation to achieve productivity and financial goals.

  • Delivers operational insights and leadership while driving solutions to overlooked issues, including operational KPIs that can improve gross margin, engineerutilization, and productivity.

  • Proactively collaborates with cross-functional teams within the region and at headquarters to support decision-making and change management initiatives.

  • Ensures that specific project and programobjectivesare defined for areas of responsibility and that necessary preliminary activities (e.g., defining outcomes, milestones, feasibility studies, and resource planning) are completed to enable effective execution.

  • Ensures that all assigned projects and programs are completed according to predetermined requirements, with particular attention to product/process specifications, project/program costs, resourceutilization, andtimelycompletion.

  • Ensuresthat all phases of project, program, and/or process development aredocumentedand that required information is communicated, shared, or transferred appropriately across functional areas.Ensurescompliance with company policiesregardingengineering/laboratory notebooks, patents, confidentiality, and safety.

  • Ensures that theutilizationof all material and financial resources is carried out in an effective manner.

  • Effectively assigns work to team members, supporting professional development while maximizing organizational productivity.

  • Spearheads the research and development ofnew technologies, asappropriate, and ensures that newly developed processes, designs, and methodologies are incorporated into Applied Materials products and services or shared with other areas as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Ability to act as a key influencer and change agent, while proactively driving continuous process improvement.

  • Peoplemanagement experience, field operationalknowledge, understanding of the service business, and knowledge of key financial fundamentals preferred.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
