Job Description

PROGRAM DIRECTOR


Oversee complex programs that drive impactful mission outcomes for our customers as a Program Director . Here, youll see the bigger picture on mission initiatives and where your program management career can go at GDIT.

The Program Director serves as the primary point of contract for the Sponsor's Contract Officer Technical Representative (COTR), Praxis/GDIT contract management, financial support personnel, security, management, and others in regard to program needs and coordination. The Program Director manages the daily operations of the program with ultimate responsibility for satisfying all contractual requirements, reporting on progress, managingteam personnel, managing risks, and staying within allocated budgets. The primary work location is near Dulles Airport. Standard work-week with reasonable flexibility of hours within each two-week work period. No call-in or pager support required, but occasional after normal hours work to support the team in pushing updates to the production system.

WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your program management expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Program Director must have:

  • Security clearance level: Active Top Secret SCI with Polygraph required

  • US citizenship required

  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience managing small to mid-size programs. Working knowledge of the Sponsor's IT requirements, processes, and user environment. Experience controlling resources and funds using priority-based tasking to meet obligations in a resource-constrained environment.

  • Education: Degree in an Information Technology or Engineering discipline.

Program Specific Duties:

  • Ensuring the program is appropriately staffed with qualified personnel.

  • Ensuring the preparation and delivery of all reports in a timely manner according to defined schedules.

  • Ensuring personnel are up to date with customer and GDIT training requirements, program needs, and anticipating future training needs.

  • Resource management and cost management.

  • Preparing necessary documents for clearance and security requirements and reports.

  • Detecting and managing performance issues and concerns quickly.

  • Responding to customer requirements and Requests For Information.

  • Preparing agendas, metrics, progress report, risks, issues, and other information needed for biweekly meetings with the program's user group.

  • Preparing agendas, issues, and other information needed for biweekly meetings with the Sponsor'sHigh-Performance Computing technical team.

  • Maintaining appropriate documentation in the program information database within Confluence.

  • Supporting biweekly Sprint planning and retrospective meetings as well as monitoring Jira tickets and schedules.

  • Updating, as needed, the Risk Register, Program Management Plan, and other documents.

  • Monitoring Quality Assurance and addressing issues.

  • Supporting A&A activities and actions. Conducting weekly audit reviews of logs and dashboards.

  • Bi-weekly POV travel between contractor site near Dulles Airport and Sponsor's headquarters also in Northern Virginia.

  • Working closely with each team member, including the Technical Lead, as well as users, the COTR, ISSM, and others.

Desired Requirements:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

  • Experience with using Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud-based technologies.

  • Experience working within a SCRUM-based development environment.

  • Experience supporting software development teams.

  • Experience supporting Operations & Maintenance teams for hybrid systems (cloud-based and physical systems).

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $216,750 - $293,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
