Associate Technical Product Designer - Accessories

Job Description:

We are seeking an Associate Technical Product Designer with an accessories design background. Supporting the accessories teams, with the creation and maintenance of seasonal technical sketches and tech packs. Ensuring samples have the highest quality, consumer focused, trend-right product lines across all channels of distribution (flex business models, vertical and wholesale) that build brand equity and meet financial targets. Products primary focus on bags and small goods, secondary headwear, footwear, and socks.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and support product design team with technical sketch views and tech pack creation, prototype deliver trend-right consumer centric products that feature market-leading innovation and great price/value for each tier of the value pyramid.

  • Build, standardize, and maintain technical block library for broader team use.

  • Own technical sample reviews and communication: review samples and notate discrepancies from the tech pack.

  • Communicate technical comments back to vendors via PLM and email.

  • Conduct R&D on new silos.

  • Assist design team with PLM system, design development tool. Own keeping items up to date through the sample and development process.

  • Monitor competitors, product innovation and market dynamics as it pertains to fit and function.

  • Prioritize multiple design projects within deadline

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of related work experience.

  • Portfolio examples with a special focus on accessory technical specifications (tech packs).

  • Knowledge in hardlines/softlines categories (e.g. raw materials, textiles, print, sewing, construction, patternmaking, manufacturing).

  • Strong problem-solving skills: costing, construction, corrections to achieve the best outcome for the organization.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to explain a point of view in a clear positive manner while also flexible with receiving constructive feedback.

  • Strong product design skills (e.g. 3D product design, technical design, sketching, creative application and manipulation of art, final mechanical art, fabric and trim identification)

  • Demonstrated computer software skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint & Excel.

  • Highly motivated problem solver that pays close attention to detail.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field (e.g. industrial design, accessories design, fashion design) or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Kissimmee, FL is $91,000.00-$121,900.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
