Job description

If you have ever wondered what owning your own business is like, just ask an Employee Owner of Chatsworth Products (CPI). Better yet, become one! CPI has an immediate need for a Production Associate - Grinder in CPI's Georgetown, Texas location.
As a CPI Production Associate, you will perform production tasks assigned by Production Supervisor. Such tasks could include, but are not limited to the following: 1) operation of spot welder, 2) use of hand tools such as drill and sander, 3) cleaning and preparing metal surfaces before and after welding. Responsible for meeting safety, quality and productivity expectations.
Essential Functions:
  • Under direct supervision, operates equipment and performs production tasks as assigned.
  • Inspects and maintains equipment for compliance with safety requirements. Notifies Production Supervisor of any safety issues that need to be corrected prior to performing operations.
  • Inspects parts per work in process inspection procedure. Notifies Production Supervisor or Quality Assurance Inspector of any quality and/or mechanical problems that need to be resolved. Production Supervisor and/or Setup person will make minor repairs and equipment adjustments, as needed.
  • Works from blueprints, engineering specifications and production schedules.

Additional Functions:
  • Continuously maintains a clean work area. Disposes of trash and production scrap. Assists in cleaning common areas.
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Technical Competencies:
  • High school or equivalent education preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications.
  • Capable of using measuring devices as required for product inspection.
  • Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demand dictates.
