Summary/Job Scope: Manages product quality while promoting products, concrete knowledge and Company image to customers by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

Key Job Functions:

  • Develops and supervises plans for efficient use of materials, equipment and employees.
  • Trains operating personnel on product quality, features and benefits.
  • Develops work process to help meet or exceed Company goals & objectives as well as performance targets.
  • Manages, trains and develops direct and indirect personnel.
  • Monitors pour schedules and insures QC presence on High Priority projects.
  • Visits job sites, attends pre-pour meetings and calls on customers promoting value-added products, collecting market and job information.
  • Performs ongoing ACI & ASTM concrete and raw materials testing. Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures. Applies statistical quality control procedures. Evaluates data, writes reports and generates graphs and charts to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Evaluates existing quality or productions standards and procedures, recommends modifications and leads their implementation.
  • Reviews and supervises the work of Concrete Testing Services.
  • Advises upper management on product development issues arising from product problems identified through technical support calls with customers.
  • Leads investigation of complaints, identify possible causes, conducts further testing, proposes resolution and works with sales to resolve customer complaints.
  • Leads Research and Development initiatives within the group, optimizing and improving the quality of current concrete mixes.
  • Acts as a mentor to new or less experienced QC Field personnel relating to technical knowledge.
  • Conducts audits and makes ongoing improvements to the Quality Performance System.
  • Completes all required paperwork (reports, forms, letters, etc.).
  • Conducts onsite safety observations.

Salary Range: $78,500-$100,000

Qualifications:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge in Microsoft Office, Excel and Outlook.
  • Education High School Diploma and Industry related certifications or equivalent education in a technical concrete college.
  • 3+ Years related experience in Concrete Production and Testing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Qualified applicant must have an ACI Level 2 and be able to attain the following certifications:ย 
    • ACI Level 3

Knowledge:

Familiarity with DOT regulations; must have strong organizational and time management skills. Must have knowledge of concrete production and testing. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high profile and fast paced environment is required. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work a flexible schedule are required.
