Major Activities & Key Challenges: 

  • Responsible for the entire 3 shift production and maintenance organizations for both X & Y Plants, including forging and heat-treating operations.

  • Participating in the identification, recruitment, training, appraising, and professional development of maintenance and operations resources.
  • Production/Operations leadership responsibilities:

    • Focus on continuous improvement to achieve OEE, value add, and financial goals as it pertains to the organization and develop the salaried/hourly organization in continuous improvement.

    • Utilize adequate resources to meet customer demand while remaining within financial goals set forth by organizations.

    • Manage all issues related to production labor and develop a working relationship with union leadership.

    • Develop the salaried workforce to drive improvement across all measures of the organization

    • Design and maintain a scale-able organizational structure that can meet fluctuating demand

    • Guide the team appropriately to ensure a highest level of reporting accuracy in Oracle.

    • Own the accuracy and thoroughness of downtime reporting through Vorne.

    • Ensure Environmental Health and Safety leadership and direction are in place and effective within the Manufacturing facilities.

    • Reinvigorate processes to drive positive change in the areas of safety, people, quality, output and cost.

    • Manage and set expectations for the X/Y Plant maintenance team, ensuring that critical activities/processes are adhered to in order to improve operational availability performance on manufacturing assets.

    • Drive Root Cause problem solving amongst the entire team and develop employees in using problem solving tools to implement meaningful solutions.

Environment, Health & Safety Requirements:

  • This position involves some degree of exposure to risk of accident and requires following basic safety precautions.  Work is normally performed in an interior work environment.  While not exposed to hazardous materials, this position requires wearing full Personal Protective Equipment to protect from mobile equipment and hot materials when on the shop floor.

  • This position requires physical activity such as walking, sitting and standing for extended periods of time.

  • This position also requires a willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule and be responsive after normal working hours for support.


Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED from an accredited institution

  • 5 years supervisory experience with increasing responsibilities in a manufacturing environment

  • 3 years of experience in a technical role in a manufacturing environment

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.  Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Seven+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with increasing responsibilities.

  • The ideal candidate will have a maintenance or engineering background with an aptitude for and experience in an operations-focused role with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize often competing initiatives or action items.   

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to build a strong team and lead through influence.

  • Strong problem solving, judgment and critical thinking skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Experience/certification in lean principals

  • Demonstrated record of making continuous improvements

  • Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook, Oracle
