Job Title: Technical Service Assistant

Industry: Commercial Food Equipment

Location (City, State): Vernon Hills, IL

Assignment Type: Contract (Open-Ended)

Pay: $24.00–$25.00/hour

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (1-hour lunch). Part-time candidates (25–30 hours/week) will also be considered.

Our client is a well-established organization within the commercial equipment industry seeking a Technical Service Assistant to support its service operations team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a combination of administrative work, customer communication, and coordinating service requests in a collaborative office environment.

Job Description:

The Technical Service Assistant provides day-to-day support to the service department by coordinating work orders, communicating with technicians, updating service records, and ensuring service requests move efficiently from start to finish. This position is highly administrative but is best suited for someone with mechanical aptitude or prior experience supporting field service or dispatch operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming phone calls and emails regarding service requests.
  • Create and update service tickets within internal tracking systems.
  • Coordinate dispatch requests with third-party service providers.
  • Monitor open work orders and proactively follow up to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate warranty and service documentation.
