Job description

The Maintenance Systems Intern will support the Maintenance Department through organization, inventory control, and foundational CMMS setup activities. This is a short-term, hands-on operational internship focused on organizing maintenance parts storage, counting and documenting inventory, building accurate Excel-based tracking sheets, and supporting the initial setup of maintenance data for CMMS implementation.

The role will work closely with Maintenance and Operations leadership to improve visibility, organization, and control of maintenance parts and equipment information.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Parts Organization & Inventory

• Organize maintenance parts rooms, shelving, and storage areas

• Identify, sort, label, and categorize maintenance parts and supplies

• Perform physical inventory counts of maintenance parts and consumables

• Create and maintain accurate Excel inventory tracking sheets

• Assist in establishing standardized storage locations and labeling systems

• Support inventory audits and reconciliation efforts

CMMS & Maintenance Data Support

• Assist with entering maintenance parts, assets, and equipment information into Excel databases and CMMS systems

• Help prepare maintenance data for CMMS startup and implementation

• Support setup of equipment lists, parts records, and maintenance tracking information

• Assist with organizing preventive maintenance documentation and work order records

• Help establish basic maintenance tracking and parts consumption reporting

Administrative & Operational Support

• Maintain organized maintenance documentation and records

• Assist the maintenance team with data collection and process organization

• Support continuous improvement efforts related to maintenance systems and inventory accuracy

• Perform other maintenance administrative support tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a technical, operations, supply chain, business, industrial technology, or related program preferred

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Comfortable working with Excel and data entry

• Ability to work independently and follow through on assigned tasks
