The Bar Manager is responsible for managing all daily bar functions for the hotel company and ensuring a successful 5 star experience for guests both in the restaurants and at Satellite functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Position will include, but not limited to, in assisting leading the overall operation of the Beverage Program.
• Develop cocktail program to increase revenue and change seasonally
• Strong knowledge of wine, spirits & cocktails
• Responsible for monthly Inventories of Bars and bar storage areas
• Restock and maintenance of Bars
• Monitor bar service standards and adjust as needed
• Maintenance and upkeep of bars and beverage storage areas
• Understand and monitor bar service and operations
• Perform manager duties in the absence of the Dining Room Manager or as needed
• Strong leadership skills
• Complete the inventory count of bar supplies and maintain a par level of these items
• Assist in managing the ordering and receiving of bar supplies
• Manage and administer whiskey tastings daily
• Train staff on wines, spirits , cocktails and service Standards
• Maintains cleanliness of all bar areas
• Understand and use OpenTable, Active Networks and Opera as needed
• Communicate internal information to the team
• Develop bar supervisor team
• Ability to keep calm under high pressure situations
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance in required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervision over Bar Staff and all hourly DR employees as needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
• 4 year degree in culinary arts preferred
• Experience in the hospitality industry preferred
• Technical school or on the job formal training of Wine and Spirits preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be able to effectively communicate with guests, team members and managers
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
• Basic math skills
REASONING ABILITY
• Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Must be able to work long hours and be on your feet for a long period of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
