What you will do
As an Inspections Helper - Intern, you will gain hands-on, field-based experience supporting life safety inspection activities alongside experienced technicians. This internship is designed to provide practical exposure to real-world inspection environments while reinforcing professionalism, safety awareness, and technical learning.
This is an in-person, paid summer internship focused on inspection support-not a classroom-based program.
How you will do it
You will work under close supervision and mentorship from trained professionals and will:
  • Assist with fire and life safety system inspections in active field environments
  • Support testing activities for fire alarms, smoke detectors, and heat detectors
  • Learn inspection procedures, documentation practices, and compliance requirements
  • Help prepare and organize inspection records and related documentation
  • Follow established safety protocols and jobsite expectations at all times
  • Represent Johnson Controls with professionalism when interacting with team members and customers

Other related duties may be assigned based on business needs and learning objectives.

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program or recent graduate
  • Availability to work full-time during the summer internship period
  • Ability to work in field environments and follow safety procedures
  • Strong reliability, accountability, and attention to detail
  • Basic familiarity with hand tools and technical environments (training provided)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $20.00/hour
