Job Summary: The Infrastructure Services Manager is responsible for leading the IT Infrastructure Engineering Team, overseeing the analysis, planning, organizing, maintenance, and support of Southside Bankโ€™s technical infrastructure including compute, storage, data communications, telecommunications, a cloud first platform approach, and related hardware/software technologies. This person will determine current and future infrastructure needs, provide input to an infrastructure roadmap, and lead the activities necessary to implement the roadmap. Additionally, this individual will develop policies, standards, and procedures to ensure the availability, interoperability, recoverability, reliability, scalability, and security of the Bankโ€™s technology infrastructure.

Essential Functions:

  • Leads the IT Infrastructure Team through mentoring and ongoing development and training of team members and management.
  • Mentors team members with the latest trends and best practices in infrastructure technologies. (Microsoft technologies, Azure, O365, IaaS, PaaS, VMware).
  • Leads a cloud first approach to achieve IT corporate strategies.
  • Sets goals and objectives for direct reports to align with overall department and business goals.
  • Reviews, recommends, and implements new technologies to improve/optimize technology infrastructure operations and related support functions.
  • Manages multiple high priority initiatives in a fast paced highly technical environment.
  • Manages efficient and reliable infrastructure operations for all data centers, colocation facilities, and cloud hosted environments.
  • Ensures appropriate monitoring and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIโ€™s) to Technology Department Management.
  • Manages relationships with key technology partners and vendors, associated with the infrastructure, and ensures negotiated Service Level Agreements (SLAโ€™s) are being met.
  • Ensures all relevant policies and standards are being adhered to through proper processes and procedures.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation of processes, procedures and infrastructure topology are maintained and remain current.
  • Drives remediation activities for audit and examination findings related to the Bankโ€™s technology infrastructure.
  • Manages the execution of the Bankโ€™s patch and vulnerability management program.
  • Collaborates with other technology managers and team members to maintain and revise technical standards and documentation as part of a unified strategy.
  • Collaborates with Information Security Team and IT Operations Teams to ensure infrastructure technologies are properly configured/hardened, monitored, and maintained/patched from a security perspective.
  • Identifies and secures appropriate resources (internal and external) to ensure the successful execution of the Bankโ€™s Technology Strategic Plan.
  • Assigns work duties to team members.
  • Maintains positive relationships and promotes efficiency among a group of workers.
  • Plans and supervises the activities of others.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all sensitive Bank information.
  • Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for customers and employees consistent with Southside Bankโ€™s mission, CORE Values, and Blue Book culture guide.
  • Provides enthusiastic, professional, and courteous service to Southside Bank customers and employees.
  • Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Responsible for complying with audit policies and procedures as they pertain to this position.
  • Performs duties in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and related anti-money laundering laws, and in accordance with the Bankโ€™s Information Security Program.
  • Must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

  • Remains current with emerging technologies through technical publications, vendor activities, conferences/seminars, and formal education.
  • Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science or similar field from four-year College or University, or ten yearsโ€™ related enterprise infrastructure management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience planning for and leading the execution of the technology infrastructure integration of an acquired business unit or company/organization.
  • Prior experience planning and migrating on premise architecture/infrastructure to the cloud.
  • Prior experience managing technical teams.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience managing technology teams and infrastructure in the banking industry or other financial services industries.
  • A technical infrastructure implementation and management background covering: internal datacenter hosting, colocation, virtualization enterprise networking (LAN, WAN), servers and blades (Cisco) and storage (-Netapp/Cohesity, SAN, NAS), PING Identity Services.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, GCP, and other cloud-based services.

Necessary Skills:

  • In-depth experience with selection, design, implementation and support of enterprise technology systems and diagnostic tools in on-prem datacenters and in the cloud (e.g., Azure, AWS).
  • Detailed knowledge of Microsoft offerings, VMware, Cisco compute platforms.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including the ability to formally present complex technical concepts to external partners and various internal management levels.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on building accountability, excellence, innovation, integrity, and teamwork.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a high-volume of competing activities in a highly visible, fast paced, and high-pressure environment.
  • Deep knowledge and prior hands-on experience supporting key infrastructure components including compute, storage, data communications, virtualization technologies, cloud infrastructures, and network concepts.
  • This position will require in-depth experience in the IT Infrastructure areas of data center hosting, virtualization, enterprise networking, servers, and storage in combination with planning, budgeting, coordination, reporting and execution to ensure the successful delivery of multiple project outcomes simultaneously.
  • Ability to lead and delegate responsibilities to team members.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • An analytical, detail oriented, thought process with the ability to take methodical approach to activities such as data analysis & stability trending.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Deep knowledge of supporting infrastructure related disaster recovery scenarios.
  • Strong project management skills.

Physical Environment Demands:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.
  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to visit other offices, conference rooms, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and telephone.
  • Constantly positions self to operate on a computer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with other people throughout each day. Must be able to exchange accurate information when conversing.

Working Conditions/Environment:

  • Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
  • Moderate noise (e.g., business office with computers and printers, light traffic).

Work Schedule/Hours:

  • Monday through Friday; 8:00am โ€“ 5:00pm.
  • After hours as necessary for business needs.
  • Work as needed on weekends and holidays.
  • On call 24 x 7.

Travel:

  • Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) by land and/or air.
  • Occasional travel between Tyler and Fort Worth.
