Job Description

What you get to do:

  • Own, Plan and Deliver key cross functional initiatives, technical projects and complex features that will have the highest visibility with senior Engineering and Product leadership (Directors, Sr. Directors and VP).

  • Recommend, Define and Measure metrics that should matter for Platform teams. Lead teams in being more data driven when making decisions. Own those metrics, inspect for variances, propose corrective actions and drive changes to improve outcomes.

What you bring to Guidewire:

  • 3+ years of experience inproject/program management experience leading complex technical projects with strong preference to delivering cloud based solutions or managing Infrastructure projects.

  • Strong experience with using work planning and tracking tools like Jira, Aha, Trello, Asana etc to improve how teams manage & organize their work and report on progress.

  • Understanding of Platform Engineering, and how they contribute value to the organization.

  • Strong bias to being Metrics-driven: Experience determining effective program critical metrics and using them to measure program success and issues.

  • Be the glue that tightly aligns the otherwise loosely coupled, fast moving and high velocity teams.

  • Courage to pick up ambiguous problems, conduct independent research and facilitate decision making with Senior Leaders.

  • Demonstrate AI first mindset when it comes to work planning and execution tracking.

Nice to Have

  • Advocate and active follower of cloud technologies and market trends.

  • Experience with Product or Engineering Operations.

  • Prior experience with managing Data Centers, Security, FinOps teams.

  • Technical Certifications on AWS, GCP, Azure, Kubernetes, Security or other cloud native technologies.

  • BS/MS degree (Computer Science or Math) or equivalent level of proven professional proficiency

What you should know about this role

  • This is not a Scrum Master role.

  • This position reports directly into Director, Program Management.

  • This is an office-based position based out of Toronto, with the flexibility to work from home as applicable.

The Canadian CAD base salary range for this full-time position is $98,000 - $123,000 . Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan. In addition, some roles may be eligible for the annual company bonus plan, commissions, and/or long term incentive awards which are contingent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, company and employee performance.
