Collins Aerospace is seeking an experienced Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to lead manufacturing engineering activities supporting operations across electro-mechanical product families. In this role, you will oversee manufacturing processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, implement innovative technologies, and provide technical leadership to ensure operational excellence, efficiency, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Program Management, and Value Stream organizations, you will optimize manufacturing capabilities while supporting business growth and strategic objectives.

Your mission: to deliver manufacturing excellence by leading teams, optimizing processes, implementing innovative technologies, and developing talent to ensure world-class operational performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.

This position is based at our Santa Isabel, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and manage a team of Manufacturing Engineers responsible for sustaining, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical leadership supporting electro-mechanical product families and expand site core capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Program Management, and Value Stream teams to ensure manufacturing processes meet business and customer requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote High Standard Work to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis activities and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Support manufacturing cell design, process development, test integration, and validation activities to improve operational efficiency.
  • Identify and implement innovative technologies and advanced manufacturing solutions aligned with site strategic objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects and priorities while ensuring timely execution and successful achievement of business goals.
  • Develop, mentor, and manage engineering talent while supporting succession planning and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Analyze manufacturing performance metrics and support new product introduction and manufacturing readiness activities to ensure successful product launches.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.  
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience within aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with manufacturing cell design, test integration, and validation techniques.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, root cause analysis methodologies, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Experience developing and implementing manufacturing process improvements.
  • Proven experience in talent development, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • SAP experience and familiarity with manufacturing execution systems.
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in rapidly changing environments.
