JOB SUMMARY: The Supervisor Technical Engineering-3rd Shift is responsible for managing engineering activities including new product introductions, cost reduction, technology/research, and lifecycle product support. This position requires technical engineering knowledge coupled with people leadership skills, proficiency in continuous quality systems, cost reduction and project and business planning management experience. This position also works closely with the business group and other functional leaders in the company (service, operations, supply chain, finance) and is responsible for providing leadership and management for the engineering function. Responsible for devising and effectively implementing a development methodology that ensures superior products while also fostering and driving innovation and creativity within the engineering department.
This position is located at our Waukesha, WI location. Hours are 11;00pm - 7:00AM.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • AAS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
  • 10 years of Engineering experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3 years of leading a technical team
  • 5 years of experience with test instrumentation, data acquisition, and electro-mechanical test
  • 5 years of experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and scheduling software
  • 5 years of experience with equipment maintenance and calibration

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Execute the established vision and strategy. Drive results that are specifically targeted to support the product development cycle for the business group market.
  • Effectively manage the development process (e.g. develop time compression techniques, design/application standards for improved repeatability, manage process locally in a single location).
  • Manage expenses, ensure regulatory compliance and support corporate goals.
  • Provide engineering leadership and design input functions for new product development projects
  • Create and maintain development schedules
  • Execute product development plans (schedule, product cost, resources to complete project, quality targets, product specification adherence, development and prove out of product validation test plans, etc.)
  • Interface with internal company personnel.
  • Ensure optimal application of technology and engineering resources to meet product development requirements per the sales/marketing plan.
  • Work with cross functional teams to support a product development roadmap that targets customers' needs.
  • Work with leaders to support significant growth opportunities in the business group marketplace.
  • Foster collaboration between engineering departments to identify and harvest new engineering concepts, technologies, techniques, standards and procedures.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
