Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Technical Documentation Specialist in Orem, UT.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Architecture Documentation:
* Author, format, and maintain enterprise architecture documents, including standards, reference architectures, and decision records
* Apply consistent branding, templates, terminology, and version conventions across all architecture artifacts
* Identify and remediate gaps, stale content, and inconsistencies in the architecture record
* Maintain document lifecycle status, ownership, and revision history
Diagramming & Modeling Support:
* Create and maintain C4 model diagrams, including system context, container, and component views
* Produce data flow and integration diagrams reflecting current and target-state architectures
* Ensure diagrams remain consistent with published standards and their source systems
Architecture Governance Support:
* Prepare and maintain Architecture Review Board (ARB) materials, including decision records and technology exception documentation
* Track post-approval conditions, handoffs, and status through to closure
* Support scheduling, agendas, and documentation for architecture review sessions

Enterprise Inventories & Repository:
* Maintain canonical EA tracking artifacts, including the API inventory and database inventory
* Manage architecture artifacts and metadata in the enterprise architecture repository (Orbus iServer/APM)
* Ensure relationships, ownership, and lifecycle status are captured and kept current
Enterprise Architecture:
* Work under the direction of the Principal Enterprise Architect
* Align documentation with Enterprise Architecture standards and governance
* Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions
Knowledge Transfer:
* Document EA standards, templates, and reference architectures for reuse
* Provide knowledge transfer sessions to Digital Transformation staff on documentation practices
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Technical Communication, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
* Minimum three (3) years of experience in technical documentation, enterprise architecture support, or a closely related role
* Strong written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into plain language
* Strong attention to detail, consistency, and version discipline
* Proficiency with document production and diagramming tools, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and a diagramming platform (Lucid, Visio, or draw.io)
* Demonstrated ability to produce clear, structured, professionally formatted technical documentation
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
