Contacts Inside: President/CEO, CFO, Sr. VPs, District Managers, Inside Sales Representatives, Sales Engineers-technical issues and customer problems, Accounting Manager-invoicing and inventory issues

Contacts Outside: Manufacturer Representatives/Agents -Customers (Purchasing Agents, Engineers, Warehouse Personnel, Operation Supervisors, and Lineman)-all product and service-related issues

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Promote and sell Gresco Inventory, represented product lines, and service.
  • Enquiry customers to determine current and future material needs.
  • Build relationships with all customer representatives that will promote the company philosophy and create trust.
  • Provide market feedback to inside sales, Sales Manager, and the District Manager.
  • Pursue opportunities to increase sales and gross margins.
  • Promote and sell new products.
  • Assist inside sales as need with sales quotations and purchase orders.
  • Assist the District Manager with any and all office operations and functions as required.
  • Attend training schools as required to further develop skills and product knowledge.

NATURE AND SCOPE

Typical for outside sales representatives in an operating environment. Build and nurture strong relationship with purchasing agents, engineers, and managers so that they will have trust and confidence in GRESCO as their primary distributor. The product knowledge to assist with questions or problems. Strong interpersonal skills used daily with customers and GRESCO staff to satisfy requests and resolve problems. Organization skills to recognize and prioritize customer needs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
REQUIRED (MINIMUM REQUIRED JOB-RELATED KNOWLEDGE)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some business training
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must be a productive team player
  • Comprehend Windows and web-based software tools
  • Must be tactful, possess excellent interpersonal and telephone skills, have the ability to accommodate and engage diverse personalities, and be capable of conveying a positive and professional image while strengthening relationships with customers
  • 5-7 years business/sales experience to include quotations and bids
  • 3-5 years inside sales experience
  • Some college or technical degree
PREFERRED
  • Bachelor's degree
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office conditions. Moderate stress levels due to quotation deadlines, customer problems, and storm-related emergencies.

TRAVEL

80-85% of time spent traveling with 1-2 overnight trips per week. Occasional trips to manufacturers, trade shows, and training schools.
