JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Consulting Engineer - SAP Technical Consulting is responsible for designing and delivering complex SAPโ€‘based solutions that address information security, compliance, and data protection requirements for enterprise customers. This role involves working directly with clients to understand their SAP environments, define solution strategies, and lead technical implementation efforts across large, multiโ€‘system landscapes.
Key responsibilities include providing deep technical expertise during pilot phases, proofโ€‘ofโ€‘concepts, and full enterprise deployments, as well as owning system and data integration architecture across SAP platforms. The engineer will design specifications for custom solutions based on customer requirements, develop and configure functionality to meet defined standards, and create unit test plans and test cases aligned with customer systems.
The role also includes training customers on how to apply policies and secure data across SAP access points, producing documentation and user materials, and coordinating with crossโ€‘functional technical teams to ensure compatibility across integrated components. Strong SAP development experience is required, including RICEFW, ABAP, CDS Views, HANA SQL, OData, SAP Fiori, and familiarity with SAP modules such as Finance, MM, PP, QM, FI, and SD. Experience with SAP BTP, ABAP Restful Programming Model, BW/4HANA, and APIโ€‘based integrations is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with customers to design solutions involving information security and compliance needs on SAP.
  • Provide in-depth technical knowledge and development expertise during pilots, proofs of concept, and enterprise-wide deployments.
  • Lead integration efforts and own system/data integration architecture for SAP.
  • Install and configure NextLabs software at client premises.
  • Research and implement new functionality of the NextLabs SAP Data Security Product Suite.
  • Design specifications for custom solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Develop, configure, and implement solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Develop unit test plans and test cases based on customer landscapes.
  • Train customers to instrument policies and secure SAP data with NextLabs functionality.
  • Create training and end-user documentation.
  • Coordinate with technical teams for compatibility with other NextLabs SAP Data Security components.
  • Ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
  • Work on complex problems requiring in-depth analysis.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • BS in computer science, engineering, or higher.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Good understanding of SAP best practices.
  • Hands-on RICEFW development and ABAP New syntax.
  • Solid ABAP development experience and SAP module knowledge including Finance, MM, PP, QM, FI, and SD.
  • Extensive development experience with ABAP objects, CDS Views, HANA SQL Programming, SAP Fiori, and OData.
  • SAP BTP design/development and ABAP Restful Programming Model knowledge.
  • SAP BW / BW/4HANA experience is a major plus.
  • Java development experience is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze, create system specifications, develop tests, and implement SAP business solutions.
  • Interface experience including web services, Java connectors, and REST APIs is a plus.
  • Data masking and anonymization experience is a major plus.
  • SAP architecture and technical business-process data-flow knowledge is a plus.
