Job description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Senior Global Trade Compliance Manager to build upon our compliance controls and oversight infrastructure, connecting our supply chain intelligence to trade compliance decision-making. You will interact with global compliance teams, Data Center Engineering, AWS Services, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, Tax, and other internal businesses and external stakeholders to drive trade compliance. This position will report to the Manager of Global Trade Compliance Controls and Oversight for AWS in Seattle.
AWS is at the forefront of providing a broad set of global cloud-based services including compute, storage, databases, networking, analytics, deep Machine learning, robotics, and enterprise applications, to help organizations move faster, lower IT costs, and scale. This is a dynamic business within Amazon.com, and one of the world's fastest growing and evolving companies, with a team of exceptionally talented, bright and driven people. GTPC is responsible for ensuring that the infrastructure equipment necessary to support the AWS services are imported/exported in a compliant manner across the multiple countries where AWS operates and will expand.
Key job responsibilities
Synthesizes supply chain and compliance nuances to inform trade compliance strategy.
Owns design and maintenance of compliance mechanisms that drive oversight and control design.
Drives crisp decision-making across ambiguous, cross-functional problem statements.
Establishes strategy for documenting and managing pre- and post-shipment validation controls at scale.
Qualifies and communicates compliance risk management strategy.
Assist with technology, hardware, and software trade classification, including: Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Schedule B, and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN)
Engage with software development teams to understand and guide evolving program technology including opportunities to automate manual processes.
Generate and contribute to performance requirements, timelines, and metrics for all related activities.
Build and maintain a strict adherence to reporting and assessments.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Security, Computer Science, Risk Management, Engineering, Math, Statistics, or a related discipline, or equivalent technology experience
- 8+ years of relevant field experience
- Experience with data tools that allow for management of large data sets; Tableau, excel, AI assisted tools
- 8+ years in trade compliance experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in working directly with government officials and regulatory bodies

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
