Job description

Company Description
CapTech is an award-winning consulting firm that collaborates with clients to achieve what's possible through the power of technology. At CapTech, we're passionate about the work we do and the results we achieve for our clients. From the outset, our founders shared a collective passion to create a consultancy centered on strong relationships that would stand the test of time. Today we work alongside clients that include Fortune 100 companies, mid-sized enterprises, and government agencies, a list that spans across the country.
Job Description
Senior Technical Business Systems Analysts (BSAs) at CapTech work side-by-side with business and technical stakeholders to define complex solutions, drive solution design, and ensure delivered products meet real business needs. Our BSAs work on a wide range of initiatives-from custom digital product development to large-scale integration, modernization, and enterprise transformation efforts spanning multiple systems, technologies, and lines of business.
This Senior-level Technical BSA role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of business and technology, thrives in ambiguity, and brings a consultant's mindset to problem solving. Successful candidates are comfortable translating business objectives into technical requirements, partnering closely with architects and engineers, and helping teams navigate complex systems, integrations, and data challenges. You will play a hands-on role throughout the full delivery lifecycle, helping teams move from unclear problems to well-designed, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
  • Quickly become familiar with client business challenges, processes, and technology landscapes in order to act as a trusted advisor and subject-matter partner to stakeholders.
  • Act as a key contributor on cross-functional teams through all phases of the system delivery lifecycle, from discovery through delivery and validation.
  • Lead and support requirements elicitation using interviews, workshops, and collaborative working sessions to surface business needs and clarify solution intent.
  • Translate business objectives into detailed functional and technical requirements that guide architecture, development, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Partner with architects, engineers, and product teams to support solution design, including data modeling, API and integration requirements, interface definitions, and system workflows.
  • Analyze data to understand current-state structures, data quality, and business impact, and help define how data supports future-state solutions.
  • Support complex system integrations by documenting data mappings, business rules, system interactions, and upstream/downstream dependencies.
  • Bridge business and technical perspectives to ensure solutions are valuable, usable, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Evaluate current-state processes and systems, work with stakeholders to define a desired future state, and perform gap analysis to identify solution options and recommendations.
  • Write and refine epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items as part of an Agile delivery team.
  • Coordinate and support integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities, including requirements traceability and validation.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, assumptions, and impacts across business processes, systems, and integrations.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executive leadership, adapting your message to your audience.
  • This role should expect a hybrid client-site schedule, with regular onsite visits each week based on engagement requirements.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • 10-12+ years of experience working as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Architect, or similar role leading IT related initiatives and enterprise-scale solution delivery efforts.
  • Prior consulting experience or demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a client-facing, advisory role.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring, or managing Business Analysts or cross-functional teams with 3-5+ years of people leadership, team leadership, or delivery leadership responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience working on multi-system implementations, enterprise applications, and complex integrations.
  • Experience partnering with software development teams throughout the full software delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience creating process flows, data flows, sequence diagrams, system context diagrams, or other visual models that communicate business and technical solutions.
  • Experience defining business rules, writing user stories, developing acceptance criteria, and managing requirements in Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, data flows, and modern cloud-based architectures.
  • Ability to write and execute SQL queries to support analysis, troubleshooting, validation, and testing efforts.
  • Experience performing data analysis, data mapping, and requirements traceability across multiple systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with common delivery and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting digital product development and product-centric delivery models.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as energy, utilities, infrastructure, financial services, healthcare, or public sector environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Salesforce, or other enterprise business platforms.
  • Experience supporting cloud modernization, application modernization, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with system architecture concepts, object-oriented design principles, or software engineering practices.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Scrum, Product Owner, CBAP, PMI-PBA, or related certifications.
