Job description

ROLE STATEMENT:
The Technical Specialist will be a member of the Technical Services department responsible for providing a diverse range of technical and operational support. Reporting to the Director, Technical Services, Canadian Operations, the Technical Specialist will focus on hydraulic fracture treatment design, placement and analysis.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Present job challenges and solutions encountered during daily operations
  • Provide relevant recommendations during treatment to improve placement success.
  • Prepare job designs meeting customer requirements
  • Conduct job reporting, includes pre- and post-treatment evaluation, regulatory submissions and all treatment data requirements
  • Provide rotational on-call support
  • Support technical team members with client needs and day-to-day duties
  • Collaborate with technical team members to increase understanding and optimization of fracturing design and placement using the appropriate tools and modeling software.
  • Support the preparation and maintenance of documents (templates, database, procedures, presentations and training information) relevant to the position and the group
  • Travel to the field for on-site technical support when required
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures to meet operational service line requirements
  • Promote services, equipment and products
  • Assist and promote knowledge sharing and development opportunities
  • Adherence to operational policies, procedures to achieve safety objectives
  • Maintain and foster relationships with key stakeholders and Calfrac customers
  • Maintain active member status with respective Professional Associations
  • Attend and participate in industry groups, trade shows, conventions, and other promotional and recruiting efforts as needed.

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint is essential
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor Degree or Technology Diploma in Engineering
  • 2 – 4 years of related experience is required
  • Minimum of 2+ years field experience in fracturing required
  • Coil experience considered an asset
  • A clean 5 year drivers abstract and minimum Class 5 Drivers License
