Job description

Community Bridges is looking for a full-time IT Assistant!

We are a non-profit agency founded in 1982 with a mission to advance the integration, growth, and interdependence of people with developmental disabilities within their own communities. Building on the strengths of over 1,100 individuals in the greater Capital Area and their families, we work to identify barriers of access to find creative solutions to develop meaningful community engagement.

The IT Assistant will assist the IT department with day to day tasks and help provide continuity of IT services to the agency.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum Associate degree in Computer Science, Business or related field or equivalent certification and/or experience
  • Experience: At least 3 months to 1 year of IT Support experience

Compensation and Benefits:

There is a $1000 sign-on bonus for this position - $500 will be paid at the time of hire and $500 will be paid after 6 months in the role. *Please note, sign-on bonuses are for new hires only. Re-hires and transfers are not eligible at this time.

Paid Time Off: For a full-time employee working 40 hours a week, 264.16 hours of Paid Time Off is received per year! PTO days will increase over the years based on longevity and there is no waiting period to start using your PTO!

Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision, 403b with 1% company match, Excellent Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, Employer-paid Short Term Disability, and Employer paid Life Insurance.

Mileage Reimbursement: Employees are reimbursed for approved mileage driven on the clock.

Paid Training: As an employee, you are paid your usual rate of pay while attending training!

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Help Desk /User Assistance - Report, track and follow up on hardware/software problems and requests; Assist users with technical issues or requests.
  2. Computer Configuration & Setup - Install software and applications relevant to each job title on new and existing systems.
  3. Software Upgrades and PC Maintenance - Install version updates, service packs, new printer/device drivers, etc. on existing systems; undertake proactive measures to improve computer functionality and reliability, etc.
  4. Network Administration Basics - Create, change or disable user profiles and passwords; Set file/folder permissions.
  5. Clean and prepare retired equipment for donation or removal.
  6. Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  1. Ability to provide a high level of customer service is required.
  2. Ability to prioritize functions, work under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
  3. Basic knowledge of MS Server, MS Exchange and Terminal server operations.
  4. Good working knowledge of current MS Windows operating systems.
  5. Good working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications particularly Outlook, Word, Access and Excel.
  6. Strive to provide employees of the agency the best IT tools and resources possible to perform their work in keeping with the mission of the agency.

Required Trainings:

  1. Social Role and Client Rights – In-house training at hire and every three years
  2. Overview of DHHS – at time of hire
  3. Defensive Driving – at time of hire (within 6 months of hire date)
  4. New Hire orientation to include; Bloodborne Pathogens, back Safety, Safety Program. HR policies and HIPPA – at time of hire
  5. Department orientation – at time of hire
  6. Person Centered Training – at time of hire

Driving Level:

This position is a Level Three (3) employee. Level three employees:

  1. Do not drive individuals in their car
  2. Only use their car in limited instances going back and forth between offices
  3. Are required to take Defensive Driving at time of hire but not required to take again if no MV violations are noted during the course of employment
  4. Are required to show proof of $100,000/$300,000 liability car insurance at time of hire only

Physical Effort Level:

  • Must be physically able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours during peak workloads to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to drive a car.

Emotional Effort Level:

  • The work environment is hectic with periods of high stress. There are often deadlines, requiring flexibility in schedule.
