What are some common day-to-day tasks for professionals in Tech Marketing roles?

In a Tech Marketing role, your typical day might involve developing messaging for new product launches, creating digital campaigns, analyzing performance metrics, and collaborating closely with product and sales teams. You'll often translate technical features into customer benefits, generate targeted content, and track industry trends to keep strategies competitive. The fast-paced, collaborative environment encourages learning and innovation, making the role well-suited for those who enjoy variety and problem-solving. Over time, this hands-on experience can lead to growth opportunities in areas like product management or marketing leadership.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Tech Marketing position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Tech Marketing, you need a strong understanding of both technology products and marketing principles, often supported by a degree in marketing, business, or a related technical field. Familiarity with CRM platforms, analytics tools like Google Analytics, marketing automation software, and sometimes certification in digital marketing is highly valuable. Excellent communication, creativity, and analytical thinking help differentiate high performers in this area. These skills are crucial because the role demands translating complex technical information into compelling, customer-focused marketing strategies that drive business growth.

Defense Technology Marketing Campaign, Senior Manager
The Opportunity
Booz Allen is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and execution-driven Senior Manager to lead integrated marketing campaigns for our Defense Tech business. In this role, you will translate Booz Allen's cutting-edge Defense Tech capabilities into compelling, integrated marketing programs that strengthen market position and accelerate growth.
This is a senior level role with real ownership. You'll have support resource behind you, but you are expected to take the pen: shaping the campaign narrative, pressure-testing with executive stakeholders, and driving it across the finish line. You will move fluidly between setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves to execute it. If you are a senior marketer energized by that kind of direct impact and you are fluent enough in tech and defense - or have marketed complex technical solutions and know how to get there - to hold your own in a room full of engineers and executives alike, then this role was built for you. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
What You'll Do:
  • Develop and execute a multi-channel defense tech marketing campaign aligned to business priorities, leveraging paid, owned, and earned channels to drive awareness, engagement, and product sales pipeline.
  • Partner with product, solution, and business leaders to shape differentiated messaging and value propositions that resonate with enterprise and government buyers. You can read a technical brief and come back with a campaign hook - not just a summary.
  • Collaborate across brand, digital, content, marketing, and sales teams to ensure alignment, speed, and consistency in campaign delivery.
  • Engage, advise, and influence executive and business leaders, synthesizing inputs, cutting through ambiguity, and driving timely decisions to maintain campaign momentum. You are comfortable being the one in the room who moves things forward.
  • Deliver success metrics, analyze campaign performance, and continuously optimize for impact across the funnel.

Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
  • 12+ years of experience in B2B or B2G marketing, and marketing defense or AI solutions from a tech or product company
  • Experience in product marketing and leading successful product launches
  • Experience leading integrated marketing campaigns that drive measurable business outcomes
  • Experience with enterprise or government buying cycles and audiences
  • Experience navigating highly matrixed, cross-functional organizations without direct authority
  • Experience managing complex marketing budgets, including multi-channel planning and performance optimization
  • Experience leveraging data to inform strategy
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional executive presence, including influencing up, across, and out to align senior stakeholders
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong analytical mindset
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or a Marketing field

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience with account-based marketing (ABM) and demand generation best practices
  • Ability to connect marketing programs to sales motions and pipeline
  • Master's degree in Communications, Marketing or a related field, preferred
