Join our team as a Director, IT Delivery to advance Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) using cloud technologies. You'll automate workflows, optimize infrastructure, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop efficient systems for document automation and data extraction.

We seek an experienced professional with a solid background in designing and implementing cloud-based solutions, especially for Intelligent Document Processing. You'll work with modern technologies alongside skilled colleagues to deliver impactful solutions.

Reporting to the leader of Information Technology Management, you'll support IT delivery for Platform by managing value streams, executing on the roadmap, and leveraging Agile Release Trains. Key duties include overseeing value stream goals, partnering on solution design, and fostering an engineering mindset across teams. Strong communication, leadership, and strategic influence are essential.

This hybrid role requires three days per week onsite in Hartford, CT or Charlotte, NC. U.S. work authorization without company sponsorship is required.


Job Duties:

  • Accountable for end-to-end technology execution, quality, financials, and workforce management for strategic investments and maintenance, ensuring compliance with NFR (Compliance, Audit, SOX controls, Disaster Recovery).

  • Partner with VSO, VSL, Business Transformation Leads and Agile product management teams to drive business value and prioritize capabilities.

  • Responsible for delivery of Submissions Intake, Extraction and Ingestion.

  • Manage and negotiate complex stakeholder relationships within and across Value Streams and business leadership.

  • Develop and implement technology strategy, process improvements, risk mitigation, financial management, and resource planning.

  • Collaborate with enterprise leaders on digital transformation, cloud migration, and Generative AI initiatives.

  • Develop and partner with a large organization with strong workforce strategies, including providing direction for Release Train Engineers, Scrum Masters, Quality Analysts

  • Effectively manage multiple vendor partnerships in an onshore/offshore environment.

  • Mature DevOps, RE, and QE practices, improve automation for continuous delivery, and build high-performing teams focused on continuous improvement.

  • Oversee financial management, including cost and timeestimation to deliver business value.

  • Drive community engagement and productivity, lead innovation, implement new technologies, and demonstrate strong business acumen.

  • Engage leaders to support technology changes, act as a trusted advisor to the leadership teams, and utilize strong analytical skills to influence decisions.

Skills and Expertise:

  • 10+ years of technology leadership experience in delivering software solutions in a complex scaled agile environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

  • Prior engineering experience, and familiarity with all aspects of the software development life cycle.

  • Strong understanding of business strategy and aligning technology roadmaps to business goals with focus on Business Insurance value chain.

  • Ability to engage leaders across organizational boundaries and influence technology decisions.

  • Practical experience in the insurance domain with strong prior delivery experience is preferred.

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field; Master of Science in Computer Science or related preferred.

  • Experience with AI, ML, and integrating data science models into operational systems is a plus.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$144,800 - $252,600
