Global Manufacturing Technology Leader - Healthcare Solutions

Role Purpose

The Manufacturing Technology Leader - Healthcare Solutions is a critical leadership role responsible for enabling robust, scalable, and compliant manufacturing processes across Spectrum's global Healthcare manufacturing network. This role plays a central part in new product scale-up, technology transfer, manufacturing capability development, and continuous improvement, ensuring seamless transition from development into commercial production while meeting operational, quality, and customer requirements. This position reports directly to the Global Integrated Operations Leader while taking functional guidance from the Global Technology Director.

Key Responsibilities

Manufacturing Technology Leadership

  • Lead Manufacturing Technology activities to support new product introduction (NPI), process scale-up, and technology transfer into commercial manufacturing.
  • Own execution of the asset and process strategy, including capacity and capital deployment, expansion, product transfers, and manufacturing readiness for new programs.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are designed and executed to meet critical-to-quality (CTQ), regulatory, and customer requirements.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with site and segment operational performance metrics (safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity).
  • Lead efforts in yield improvement, process capability enhancement, and waste reduction across manufacturing operations.
  • Support validation and qualification of new equipment, tooling, automation, and processes.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with Technology Development (TD), R&D, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams to ensure seamless product lifecycle execution.
  • Provide strong manufacturing input during early development to enable design for manufacturability (DFM) and robust scale-up strategies.

People & Capability Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Manufacturing Technology teams to build strong technical depth and execution capability.
  • Strengthen manufacturing technology competencies across Spectrum sites, including standardization and best practice deployment.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, technical rigor, and collaboration.

Governance & Execution

  • Support portfolio execution through disciplined project management, risk identification, and mitigation for manufacturing-related activities.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, customer expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline with 15+ years of industry experience, ideally in the medical device manufacturing industry.
  • Significant experience in medical device manufacturing technology, process engineering, or industrialization within regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership in new product scale-up, technology transfer, and manufacturing capability development.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience within Healthcare, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (MS, Ph.D.) in Engineering or Science.
  • CDMO experience in plastics
  • Proven track record of leading global or multi-site manufacturing technology teams.
