Job description

LHH is regularly tasked by our clients to find experienced Technology Attorneys for project related work from time to time. To be proactive we are reaching out to the Detroit legal market to connect with talented Attorneys who have the necessary and on point experience our clients look for. In particular, we are looking for candidates who would be open to hybrid opportunities with our Detroit based clients we anticipate a need for in the near future.
With that being said, if you are an experienced Technology Transactions Attorney living in the Chicago area looking for hybrid work we want to hear from you asap. Even though compensation will be dependent upon a candidates experience, duration of the project and sophistication level of the experience required, we anticipate that the compensation will range anywhere from $90/hour to $120/hour.
Competitive candidates will have demonstrated legal experience with the following deliverables:
  1. Drafting, structuring, and negotiating complex license and services agreements and statements of work with customers, clients and other licensees of clients software, technology, data and services.
  2. Drafting, structuring, and negotiating complex procurement agreements with software licensors, cloud service providers, data licensors, professional service providers, and other technology vendors and licensors.
  3. Working with and advising research, development and product teams, and other business personnel on, licensing, proprietary rights, intellectual property and other pertinent provisions of various agreement types including sponsored research, material transfer, data use, software, confidentiality, collaboration and joint development agreements.
  4. Providing accurate and timely analysis and counsel to senior leadership and other business stakeholders on a variety of legal issues and business matters related to technology use, licensing and procurement
  5. Pertinent experience with technology-based agreements preferably at a top-tier law firm or in-house legal department of a software company
  6. Experience with software and cloud-based products, protection and licensing
  7. Experience with healthcare related software and technology a plus
  8. Experience with open source software licenses and compliance a plus

Job Qualifications:
  1. Licensed and in good standing before at least one state bar.
  2. 5+ years of legal experience handling in support of sophisticated trademark clients.
  3. Candidates must be willing to work hybrid in the Detroit area and go into our clients offices to work on site and to collaborate from time to time on a regular basis.
