SNI Technology's client located in Woodland Park, CO is seeking to hire a talented IT Operations Engineer II for an exciting, full-time, contract-to-hire position. Please note this is a fully onsite position with a 520+ hour minimum contract duration (or 4+ months) required to meet prior to being eligible for conversion to permanent employment status.
IT OPERATIONS ENGINEER II
The IT Operations Engineer II supports the planning, engineering, deployment, and maintenance of secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions across multiple departments and locations. This role reports to the Network/Systems and serves as a technical resource within the IT Operations team, playing a key role in supporting infrastructure projects, and ensuring operational excellence across the organization's technology platforms.
This role operates within a hybrid infrastructure environment and requires strong experience with Microsoft enterprise technologies, including Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and identity management systems. The ideal candidate will be able to support both cloud and on-premises technologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable technology services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Microsoft Platform Administration
  • Administer and support Microsoft enterprise technologies, including Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Windows Server environments.
  • Support hybrid identity environments, including directory synchronization, authentication services, and access management.
  • Assist in managing Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related collaboration platforms.
  • Support device and endpoint management using Microsoft Intune or related endpoint management tools.
  • Utilize PowerShell scripting and automation to improve operational efficiency and streamline system administration tasks.
  • Design and implement integrations between Microsoft cloud services and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Support identity security best practices, including conditional access, MFA enforcement, and privileged access controls.
Infrastructure Engineering
  • Help develop and execute detailed technical designs, system specifications, and infrastructure architecture for new and existing technologies.
  • Assist in designing scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions that support ministry operations across multiple locations.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that align with organizational goals, operational needs, and long-term technology strategy.
  • Conduct equipment evaluations, system testing, and pilot deployments to determine the effectiveness and scalability of proposed technologies.
  • Develop architecture documentation, system diagrams, and technical standards for infrastructure systems.
Systems Implementation & Integration
  • Deploy and integrate new systems, services, and infrastructure platforms, services, and infrastructure platforms, including installation, configuration, integration, testing, and documentation.
  • Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management of existing systems.
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of systems prior to production deployment.
Technical Operations Support
  • Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for complex infrastructure and system issues.
  • Serve as a Tier III escalation resource for complex infrastructure and system issues for support teams.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential risks or operational issues.
  • Assist in maintaining high availability of critical ministry systems and services.
Change Management & Operational Governance
  • Participate in the IT change management process, including risk assessment, impact analysis, and implementation planning.
  • Develop and maintain Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for infrastructure changes and technology deployments.
  • Assist in coordinating scheduled maintenance activities and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Ensure system changes are properly documented and implemented in accordance with operational standards.
Collaboration and Technical Leadership
  • Collaborate with internal IT teams to deliver reliable technology services.
  • Assist in mentoring and supporting junior technical staff through knowledge sharing and technical guidance.
  • Participate in planning discussions related to infrastructure improvements and operational initiatives.
Documentation & Process Development
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation for systems, architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Develop operational runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and configuration standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through improved processes, automation, and documentation.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, technical operations, and systems administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft enterprise technologies, including Microsoft 365, Windows Server, and Active Directory/Entra ID.
  • Experience working within hybrid infrastructure environments combining cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure in a multi-department, multi-site organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with both technical staff and senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple technical initiatives while maintaining attention to detail and operational stability.
  • Alignment with Values:

COMPENSATION RANGE
The compensation for this position is in the range of $38.46 to $43.26 per hour during the 4-month contract duration of the assignment with a starting salary expectation of $80K to $90K annually upon conversion to permanent.
