A Technician Intern will work alongside a qualified mentor and participate in a Warren CAT-sponsored program to develop the knowledge and expertise to become a Caterpillar Technician. 

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Work under the guidance of a Warren CAT Mentor to: 

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Caterpillar Engines and Machinery.
  • Utilize hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools, laptops, diagnostic software, cranes, and rigging equipment.
  • Understand engines, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems and components.
  • Adhere to service manuals and technical guidelines to ensure repairs meet Caterpillar standards and accurately document all service and repair activities.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED: 

  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher during the internship.
  • Arrange for housing near the school campus and the local Warren CAT location if required.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Successfully complete the Work Steps assessment.
