Job description

Grieg Connect is the operating system of the port. As CTO, lead every engineering team, put AI at the core of what we build, and scale the platform that runs Europeโ€™s ports. Monterro-backed.

Come and lead the technology, and the teams, that keep them running, and take our platform into the AI era.

About Grieg Connect

Grieg Connect is the Nordic leader in port software. Our platform is the operational and financial system that runs the daily work of the port, from vessel and berth planning to security, resource management, work orders and invoicing. Around 125 ports and operators rely on us every day, and we hold a leading position across the Nordics. We are backed by Monterro, the leading B2B software investor in the Nordics, and we are scaling across Europe with the ambition to become the category leader in our space.

We are now hiring our first Chief Technology Officer to lead all of engineering and set the technical direction for our next chapter.

What you will do
  • Lead and unify all of our engineering teams across our Nordic sites, with clear ownership and accountability.
  • Own the technology strategy and target architecture across all products, aligned with our growth and international expansion.
  • Drive AI to the top of everything we build, and embed it into both the product and our internal ways of working.
  • Carry a strong influence over the overall product strategy and roadmap, working closely with the current product organisation.
  • Strengthen infrastructure, reliability and security, and make our service commitments measurable.
  • Take a firm hand on two modernisation projects, challenging scope and keeping the platform future-ready.
  • Build engineering leadership beneath you and reduce key-person risk as we grow.
  • Integrate add-on acquisitions cleanly as we expand across Europe.
  • Sit on the management team and report to the CEO.
Who you are
  • A senior engineering leader with 10+ years in SaaS, ideally B2B, who has scaled and unified more than one team.
  • An engineer at heart with the authority to set technical direction and earn the respect of strong engineers, without needing to be the sharpest coder in the room.
  • A change leader who brings people with you and finishes what you start.
  • Genuinely curious about AI and how to make it deliver, whether or not you have run a full AI transformation.
  • Comfortable shaping product strategy alongside a product team.
  • Strong on cloud architecture, platform modernisation, security and pragmatic technology choices.
  • Experience integrating teams through M&A is a plus. Maritime knowledge is welcome, but not a requirement.
What we offer
  • The defining technology hire of our next chapter, with a real mandate.
  • A strong platform to build on, with clear gaps to close and an AI story to write.
  • A grounded, low-ego team and a hands-on CEO.
  • The chance to help take a Nordic leader across Europe, organically and through M&A.
  • Competitive compensation and the opportunity to invest alongside the owners.
  • The Monterro network, including technology and product peers across the portfolio.
Location

We are flexible on where you are based, although within the greater Oslo, greater Gothenburg or greater Karlstad areas are preferred. The role involves regular travel between our Nordic sites, so we are looking for someone who is mobile.
