Certified Surgical Technologist Job Description
  • Pre-Surgical Preparation:
    • Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes according to procedure requirements.
  • Assisting During Surgery:
    • Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures, ensuring a sterile environment is maintained.
  • Equipment Management:
    • Operate and maintain surgical instruments, ensuring all equipment functions properly before and during surgeries.
  • Patient Safety & Sterility:
    • Monitor and maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and infection control.
  • Post-Surgical Duties:
    • Assist with post-operative room clean-up and prepare instruments for sterilization and reprocessing.
Requirements
Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
Certification:
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA or equivalent required.
Experience:
  • Previous experience in a surgical or operating room setting is preferred but not required.
