POSITION TITLE: Sales Associate
DEPARTMENT: Retail
GRADE/FLSA STATUS: H8-Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Retail, Dual Rate Sales Associate, Retail Inventory Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY:
As a Sales Associate, you will be the most critical link in ensuring that our customers have a rewarding experience that will keep them coming back time after time. You will become a part of a dynamic selling environment where your fashion sense and selling strength will make you an important part of our team. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to demonstrating OUTSTANDING customer service skills, meeting selling and loyalty program standards, providing advanced product knowledge to our customers and working as part of a team to meet individual, department and store objectives.
JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES--(Level 1):
  • Endorse the business objectives, ethics and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision and Values
  • Welcome our guests and initiate conversation with a friendly verbal greeting; introduce self to guests
  • Maintain an Upbeat Positive Attitude (UPA) showing energy and enthusiasm
  • Delight our guests with outstanding service to the service standards of Caesar's Entertainment Own-IT program with an Upbeat Positive Attitude (UPA)
  • Delight the guest by learning customers name and use it often anticipating the customer's needs while in the store or during seating
  • Promote the Caesars Rewards program & it's benefits to our guests
  • Operate Point of Sale system and properly process customer's cash purchases accurately counting money and giving back correct change
  • Use proper procedures for transaction processing, including but not limited to cash, credit cards, comps, coupons, discounts, Quick Rewards, Service Recovery, etc.
  • Count out and sign bank at the end of the shift
  • Knowledgeable about all property facilities, services, promotions and events, and keeping all staff informed and current
  • Recognize areas of improvement including monthly service "Spotlight" ratings and external mystery shops
  • Responsible for daily housekeeping in shop and Sweet Stop straightening merchandise, dusting,, cleaning and washing used candy trays and containers
  • Adhere to the Visual Presentation Standards of Harrah's
  • Assist in stock receiving and re-stocking the selling floor
  • Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service
  • Engaging the customer and determining their needs
  • Presenting product features and benefits in a knowledgeable way
  • Overcoming guest objections and closing sales while building on-going relationships
  • Prepare samples stations and clean up after each event
  • Work closely with inventory team on inventory process
  • Work with supervisors on getting orders done
  • Record tips from credit cards, automatic debits and comp customers
  • Demonstrate superior customer service skills by displaying outlined service behaviors
  • Ensure service recovery activities
  • Participative member of the team by volunteering and being involved with projects, committees, and task forces by providing input and suggestions
  • Additional job duties as assigned
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner

JOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES--(Level 2):
  • Complete all duties of a Level I Sales Associate
  • Provide on-the-job direction for all Sales Associates staff on assigned shift
  • Train all newly hired Sales Associates on assigned shift on sales and visual standards
  • Reset sales floors to visual standards at the end of sales day
  • Greet and assist customers using Spotlight skills; providing information about retail items and property events, promotions, and hours of operation
  • Meet with customers on a one-on-one basis to assist with determining personal needs and compiling merchandise preference list
  • Familiar with the products and/or services provided
  • Achieve positive results in personal sales by focusing on relationship selling, building a client base and offering exemplary customer service
  • Flexes personal selling techniques to contribute to overall store financial results
  • Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, various lines, merchandise promotions, and advertisements
  • Maintain stock levels, requisitioning products from the Warehouse and outside purveyors to maintain highest level of guest satisfaction as assigned by shift supervisor
  • Maintain clerk areas to be safe, "Spotless" and visually appealing to maximize shop revenues
  • Maintain the required confidentiality of the information being handled
  • Demonstrate a pleasant and enthusiastic demeanor at all times
  • Restock shelves/fixtures with merchandise
  • Rearrange merchandise and displays in high areas
  • Achieve assigned sales goal target and work with the team to meet store budget
  • Develop personal MO with supervisor

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Six months retail sales experience preferred
  • Must demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:
  • Pleasant, poised personality
  • Knowledge of gift shop/boutique items
  • Neat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygiene
  • Self-starter; must work well without close supervision
  • Excellent customer service/public relations skills
  • Possess drive, be goal-oriented, have an entrepreneurial outlook
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business
  • Enjoy connecting with customers and demonstrating an enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities and quickly learning new procedures
  • Demonstrate knowledge of store products and services, and use this knowledge to inspire customers to make purchases
  • Ability to meet or exceed sales, customer service and loyalty program standards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers and management
  • Ability to use Microsoft office and able to pick up systems quickly

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds and carry 10 pounds
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items
  • Must be able to lift overhead and climb a ladder for stocking purposes
  • Manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a calculator, computer, fax machine and photo copier
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Must be able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations
  • Must be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including second hand smoke
  • Must be able to stand on feet for eight hour shift
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays
