They are responsible for managing customer relationships, understanding clients' technical needs, and ensuring the successful delivery of products or services. Tech Account Managers work closely with sales, support, and technical teams to address issues, offer solutions, and help clients achieve their business goals. Their role is key in maintaining customer satisfaction and driving account growth.

How does a Tech Account Manager typically collaborate with technical and non-technical teams within an organization?

Tech Account Managers act as a crucial bridge between clients, sales teams, and technical departments. JOB SUMMARY

This is a relationship-driven, client-facing role centered on prospecting, pursuing, and closing new business - it is not a Project Management role and not an Estimating role. Awarded work is transitioned to Crestone's Project Management team, who own execution, delivery, and job profitability; bids and pricing are developed by Crestone's Estimating team.

  • Track pipeline, forecast revenue, and report on sales performance.
  • Maintain ongoing client relationships throughout the life of a project, coordinating with the Project Management team as needed.
  • Hand off awarded projects to the Project Management team for execution; this role does not retain responsibility for project delivery or profitability.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Background in Estimating, Project Management, or Superintendent work within utility construction strongly preferred - candidates should be able to speak credibly to project scope, cost drivers, and risk in client conversations.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Established network and credibility within construction, telecom, or utility sectors.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) a plus.
  • Ability to manage a sales pipeline from prospecting through close.

WORK EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of experience in utility construction, telecommunications/fiber infrastructure, or related civil construction - in an Estimating, Project Management, Superintendent, or Account Management capacity.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Preferred: existing relationships with utility, municipal, or telecom clients in our service markets.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.

COMPENSATION
  • Base salary + commission.
  • Target total compensation: $100,000 - $200,000 annually.
