Reports To: Marketing & Communications Manager, TeamMates Mentoring Program

Location: TeamMates National Office (Lincoln, NE or Gretna, NE)

 

Basic Function: The Marketing Specialist supports the growth and visibility of TeamMates Mentoring by developing and executing creative, effective marketing and communication strategies. This position plays an active role in strengthening the TeamMates brand, telling the story and impact of mentoring, supporting mentor recruitment, and providing marketing resources to local chapters.

As part of the marketing team, the Marketing Specialist is expected to take ownership of projects, manage multiple priorities, bring forward new ideas, and move initiatives from concept through completion.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a marketing or advertising role
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, WordPress, Canva, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, and social media platforms preferred
  • Graphic design, photography, and videography knowledge and experience greatly desired
  • Strong written and verbal skills for clear messaging and cross-functional teamwork
  • Organizational and public speaking skills ideal
  • Self-starter who takes initiative to execute job expectations
  • Passion for non-profit work focused on serving youth, education, and the community
  • Embody the TeamMates Mentoring team norms of trust, transparency, collaboration, respect, and fun

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels to support recruitment, brand awareness, fundraising, and organizational initiatives
  • Maintain key website content and strategic input on user experience, design, and functionality 
  • Analyze social media and website Google Analytics to track key performance metrics
  • Develop and maintain organization-wide toolkits and templates to support Chapters, recruitment, fundraising, and other program initiatives
  • Social media ideation, content creation, interaction, and trend research
  • Public speaking presentations for recruitments and Regional Meetings
  • Compose written storytelling pieces in the form of match stories and blog posts 
  • Produce organization newsletters
  • Ensure consistency of brand standards internally and externally
  • Work collaboratively with TeamMates National Office employees
  • Other duties as assigned


Working Conditions: This position works in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Some evening, weekend, and overnight travel are expected. Physical requirements include the ability to engage in repetitive movements, working at a desk in front of a computer for extended periods of time, and occasionally lifting up to 20 pounds.
