Position Overview
We're looking for an Editor to support the Dude Perfect's post-production team. This role will be
responsible for assembling, refining, and delivering high-quality edits that capture the energy,
adventure, and personality of the channel and the Dude Perfect brand.
This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in fast-paced YouTube production
environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing full edits independently, from ingest
and organization through final delivery. They understand YouTube pacing, unscripted
storytelling, and competition-style formats, and can craft compelling and engaging narratives.
This role will collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Producers, and the Production
Manager to ensure every video meets the highest standard of quality and performance.
The Editor will report directly to the Lead Editor.
Initial Responsibilities:
Editorial Execution:
โ€ข Edit compelling sports, spectacle, and outdoor content from first assembly through final
delivery.
โ€ข Shape pacing, tone, and structure to maximize engagement and retention.
โ€ข Maintain clarity and storytelling continuity across multi-camera and competition-style
formats.
Collaboration:
โ€ข Partner closely with Creative Directors and Producers to translate concepts into
compelling edits.
โ€ข Incorporate feedback efficiently while meeting delivery timelines.
โ€ข Communicate proactively about post-production needs and project statuses.
Workflow, Quality, and Other
โ€ข Manage project organization, media ingestion, and file structure.
โ€ข Maintain adherence to post-production workflows, asset management standards, and
style guidelines.
โ€ข Ensure final deliverables meet technical specifications and platform requirements.
โ€ข Uphold consistent editorial quality aligned with the Dude Perfect brand and standards.
โ€ข All other duties as assigned.
Preferred Requirements:
โ€ข 3-5+ years of professional editing experience in digital media, sports, entertainment, or
high-concept YouTube-first content.
โ€ข Proven ability to independently manage full edits from ingest through final delivery.
โ€ข Strong understanding of long-form YouTube pacing, retention mechanics, and audience
engagement.
โ€ข Experience editing unscripted, competition-based content strongly preferred.
โ€ข Comfort working with multi-camera productions.
โ€ข Advanced proficiency in industry-standard editing software.
โ€ข Strong communication skills and ability to give and receive feedback.
โ€ข Experience working within fast-paced, high-output content teams.
