String Teaching Artist for Kids 4 Harmony (North Adams and Pittsfield)

(Flexible hours 20-30 hours/week)

18 Degrees is where new beginnings come to light for children and families join us on our journey into a new day! At 18 Degrees, we cultivate teams and leaders to embrace the principles of diversity, equity and inclusiveness to support the needs of our community.

  • The String Teaching Artist will work in our North Adams and/or Pittsfield sites (depending on availability) and can work 3-5 days a week up [20 hours per week or 2nd Position is 25-30 hours per week]. There is flexibility with scheduling in our after-school programming. Requires own transportation and travel.
  • This teacher will teach fundamental technique on violin with beginning, intermediate, and advanced school-aged string ensembles and lessons focused on age-appropriate skill development for young musicians and building community through ensemble playing.
  • Instruction also includes private and semi-private lessons.
  • An ideal candidate will have experience with trauma-informed education and believe in music as a vehicle for social change. Some nights and weekends are required. Multi-cultural/multi-lingual applicants encouraged to apply.
