Textbook Aide, High SchoolJOB STATUS: OPEN POSTING DATE: 05/13/2026 CLOSING DATE: 05/27/2026 04:00 PM POSTING NUMBER: 053565 LOCATION: Caney Creek High School - 011 POSITION TITLE: Textbook Aide, High School
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Assist the assistant/associate principal with the management of textbook distribution.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Inventory and order all student and teacher editions of textbooks.
  2. Prepare monthly inventory reports for district textbook warehouse.
  3. Produce and place barcodes on all new textbooks.
  4. Coordinate the distribution of textbooks to all students prior to school beginning, during lunch periods and before/after school.
  5. Receive all textbooks for students withdrawing from school.
  6. Access damage and receive payment on lost and damaged textbooks.
  7. Identify owners and return lost textbooks to students.
  8. Maintain student files (paper copies of all textbook transactions, issue/returns).
  9. Produce barcodes for all students for their ID cards.
  10. Maintain backup system to identify lost textbooks.
  11. Maintain records and produce invoices for lost textbooks.
  12. Return all monies for textbooks found.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
  14. Regular attendance.
EXPERIENCE: QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
  • High School diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Computer experience with IBM compatible
  • Office experience (filing, recordkeeping, telephone skills, basic accounting, etc.)
  • Must be in good health and physically able to lift textbooks and boxes of textbooks
  • Ability to deal with the public exhibiting patience and excellent communication skills.
