Middle & High School Math Teacher

Schedule: Part-Time | MondayWednesday | 8:00 AM 4:00 PM

Job Type: Part-Time | In Person

Position Overview

Life Prep Christian Academy is seeking a passionate and Christ-centered Math Teacher to serve students in grades 612. Students complete their daily math instruction using Teaching Textbooks, an interactive, technology-based curriculum that provides video instruction, guided practice, and automatic grading. While students work independently through the program, the Math Teacher plays a vital role in monitoring progress, providing academic support, reinforcing concepts, and offering individualized instruction when needed.

The ideal candidate is comfortable supporting students across a range of middle and high school math levels, from Pre-Algebra through our alternative textbook option consumer math and beyond. They are equipped to explain mathematical concepts in multiple ways, build student confidence, and maintain an encouraging and structured classroom environmentall while bringing a genuine Christian faith to their work.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee and support students in grades 612 as they complete their math coursework through Teaching Textbooks.
  • Monitor student progress and provide individualized assistance and intervention when needed.
  • Answer student questions and provide additional instruction to reinforce and clarify mathematical concepts.
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes academic excellence, perseverance, and spiritual growth.
  • Communicate student progress with parents and administration through regular updates and semester progress reports.
  • Utilize technology and digital tools, including Teaching Textbooks, to support student learning.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to support student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
  • Integrate biblical worldview and Christian character development into daily interactions with students.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and school events.
  • Support students academically, socially, and spiritually.



Requirements

Qualifications

  • A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with Biblical values.
  • Agreement with the mission, vision, and Statement of Faith of Life Prep Christian Academy.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience (homeschool or classroom experience preferred).
  • Strong understanding of middle and high school mathematics.
  • Ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse learners.
  • Comfort with technology and digital curriculum platforms (Teaching Textbooks experience a plus).
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Joyful, flexible, and team-oriented attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Teaching Textbooks or other technology-based math curriculum.
  • Familiarity with Montessori, Reggio Emilia, Waldorf, or Orton-Gillingham methodologies.
  • Experience in a multi-age classroom, hybrid program, or homeschool environment.
  • Florida teaching certification or equivalent experience.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
