Step into a rewarding opportunity working as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position involves supporting students in dedicated self-contained settings, serving both elementary and secondary age groups. Make a lasting impact on students with significant needs, ranging from mild to severe behaviors, across multiple classrooms:

  • Two positions for Elementary Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) self-contained classrooms
  • One role for Middle School/High School ASD self-contained programs
  • One opening for Cognitive Impairments classroom serving a diverse range of learners

You'll collaborate with educators and related service providers to implement evidence-based programs focused on student success and individualized growth. Candidates who thrive in environments where patience, positive reinforcement, and adaptive teaching strategies shine will be especially successful.

Ideal qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching License (substitute certifications are not accepted)
  • For high school autism: bachelor’s degree with an endorsement in autism spectrum disorder or other special education area, and willingness to pursue coursework as needed
  • Emotional Impairments certification or Autism endorsement required
  • Previous experience working with mild to severe behavioral challenges and significant disabilities preferred
  • Strong commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching in a self-contained classroom
  • Flexibility, resourcefulness, and outstanding communication skills
