Classroom Driver Education Instructor

Green Light Driving School is seeking a reliable, engaging, and professional Classroom Driver Education Instructor to teach teen students the knowledge and skills needed to become safe, responsible drivers.
This is a part-time position primarily involving classroom instruction. Most classes are scheduled during evening hours, with some daytime opportunities available during weekends, summer and school breaks.
Responsibilities

  • Teach driver education lessons using Green Light Driving School’s established curriculum and materials
  • Clearly explain traffic laws, defensive driving techniques, roadway safety, and responsible decision-making
  • Create a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment
  • Keep students engaged through discussion, activities, videos, and classroom technology
  • Maintain accurate attendance and classroom records
  • Begin and end classes on time
  • Communicate student concerns, attendance issues, and classroom needs to management
  • Prepare the classroom and instructional materials before each session
  • Follow all company policies and Illinois driver education requirements
Qualifications

  • Comfortable speaking and teaching in front of groups
  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally with teenagers, parents, and staff
  • Dependable, organized, patient, and punctual
  • Basic computer and classroom technology skills
  • Strong understanding of safe driving practices and traffic laws
  • Teaching, training, coaching, or public speaking experience is preferred, but not required
  • Must meet Illinois requirements for driver education instructor licensing
  • Green Light Driving School can assist qualified candidates with the instructor licensing process
Schedule
