Job description

We are looking for Pharmacy Technical Assistance teachers for our Adult education department, located at Access Cleghorn, 163 Cleghorn Street, Saint-Lambert.

NATURE OF THE WORK ​

The Pharmacy Technical Assistance Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to adult students enrolled in the vocational training program at ACCESS Cleghorn. The instructor will provide both theoretical and practical training in compliance with industry standards, ensuring students acquire the necessary skills to succeed in the healthcare field. The role includes teaching in an in-person format with hands-on training methodologies. As instruction is delivered in English, the instructor must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.

CHARACTERISTIC FUNCTIONS​

  • Develop and deliver course material aligned with the curriculum and industry standards.
  • Provide hands-on training in a simulated pharmacy setting using state-of-the-art pharmaceutical equipment.
  • Supervise laboratory practices and ensure students gain practical experience in Pharmacy Technical Assistance.
  • Guide students through stage (internship) placements in healthcare facilities.
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback to support their learning and development.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement.
  • Stay updated with advancements in the pharmaceutical field to ensure curriculum relevance.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS ​

  • Must hold a DEC in Pharmacy or a diploma or attestation of studies recognized as equivalent. 
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in the Pharmacy Technical Assistance field.
  • Strong experience in community and hospital pharmacy settings
  • Experience in training, mentoring, or teaching is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to facilitate both theoretical instruction and hands-on laboratory training.

SCHEDULE: Possible August start date. Schedule to be determined.
