About This Role

The Floating Teacher is responsible for providing flexible classroom support throughout the center by stepping into different classrooms and assisting with the daily care, supervision, and education of children. This position requires someone who can quickly adapt to different age groups, classroom routines, and teaching styles while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. The Floating Teacher will support lead and assistant teachers with classroom activities, transitions, meals, diapering/toileting, cleaning, and other daily responsibilities as needed.


What You'll Do

Support classrooms and teachers as needed throughout the day.

Provide attentive supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of all children.

Assist with classroom activities, lesson plans, and age-appropriate learning experiences.

Help with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, nap time, and transitions.

Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.

Follow all center policies, procedures, and health and safety guidelines.

Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Step into different classrooms and adapt to varying routines and age groups.

Communicate effectively with teachers and management regarding classroom needs or concerns.

Assist with opening, closing, and other center duties as assigned.


Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous experience working with children preferred; childcare or classroom experience is a plus.

Must meet all state and center requirements for working in a childcare setting.

Must be able to pass required background checks and employment screenings.

Must be dependable, punctual, and flexible with daily classroom assignments.

Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Patient, nurturing, and able to remain calm in a busy classroom environment.

Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed.

Ability to safely lift, carry, and supervise young children.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and sit on the floor for extended periods.
