Job Title: Teacher Assistant
Reports To: Principal
Organization: Tejano Center
Division: RYSS Texas Public Schools
POSITION SUMMARY
Under direct supervision, performs duties that are instructional in nature and provides support services to teachers and students. Serves in a position for which a teacher or other professional staff member has ultimate responsibility for the design and implementation of educational programs and services. Assists with classroom instruction, student supervision, assessment administration, and classroom management to support student achievement and maintain a positive learning environment.
Qualifications
Education & Certification:
  • Valid Educational Aide Certificate as required by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC).

Minimum Requirements (one of the following):
  • Completion of at least 48 semester hours of college coursework from an accredited institution;
  • Associate's degree or higher; or
  • Successful completion of a state-approved assessment (e.g., THEA/TASP or equivalent) demonstrates the ability to assist in instruction in reading, writing, and mathematics.
