Job description

WORK OBJECTIVE Provides tutorial and general program assistance in the development and supervision of program participants in activities associated with the departments after school program. Work is performed in the areas of tutorial/educational assistance programs, enrichment and character building initiatives, various prevention projects, and special events. Provides direct supervision and guidance to teacher aides in the delivery of effective instruction.

Work is performed under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. To view full job description, please click on the job title: title: Teacher Assistant (Part-Time) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED; supplemented by one year of more years' experience and/or training working with school age children; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience. Must have National Incident Management System (NIMS) certification (level to be determined by job classification requirements), or obtain within one year of employment.

Must have or be able to obtain CPR and basic first aid training and Florida Department of Children and Families required early childhood education, teacher assistant, and/or childhood development associate certifications within one year of start date. In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION In order to move on to the next phase of the application screening process, you must attach proof of education.

Applicants who demonstrate they meet the minimum requirements may be subject to an extensive selection process and screening program, which may include, but not limited to, evaluation of training and experience; background investigation; medical evaluation; controlled substance screening.
