St. Coleman Catholic School in Pompano Beach (Broward County), Florida has an opening for a qualified and dynamic full-time Teacher Assistant for the coming 2026-27 school year, to assist at the elementary level. The applicant must be nurturing, creative and a dedicated professional with the ability to support the learning environment, cultivate critical thinking skills, and work collaboratively as part of a team. The candidate performs all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and tenets of the Catholic Archdiocese of Miami. Salary will vary based on education and years of experience.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or associated degree; Bachelor's in education preferred.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Ability to assist the teacher with small groups, yard duty, and other duties pertaining to a teacher assistant.
  • Ability to work as a team member with a variety of students, parents, and staff.
  • Apple and technology skills needed with digital books and interactive classroom technology, as well as the ability to integrate technology into the subjects.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; PowerPoint a plus.
  • Proficiency in Google apps.
  • Excellent oral and written English language communication skills, including clear speaking voice.
  • Good spelling and grammar are required.
  • Supportive and respectful of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church; experience in Roman Catholic environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic tenets of Catholic Church.
  • Must have a professional demeanor, including adherence to dress code.
