Job description

Description:

Be the Spark: Join Out Teach as an Instructional Coach and Ignite Future Innovators

Are you a passionate educator with a vision for transforming teaching and learning? Do you believe that the outdoors is more than a playground, that it is a living laboratory for wonder, curiosity, and innovation? At Out Teach, we’re on a mission to make real-world learning outdoors accessible to every student, regardless of race, gender, or zip code. And we’re looking for inspiring leaders like you to help us deliver on that mission.

This is more than a job, it’s a movement.

As an Instructional Coach at Out Teach, you’ll be at the forefront of our bold strategic plan to unlock student potential through real-world learning experiences. You won’t just support teachers, you’ll empower them to take their classrooms outside and bring science to life in ways that are engaging, equitable, and lasting.

Our Strategy, Your Impact:

From 2025 to 2028, Out Teach is doubling down on what works: supporting teachers, expanding access, and embedding outdoor experiential learning into the fabric of school culture. Our strategic goals include:

  • Growing the number of high-impact teachers with the tools and confidence to teach science outdoors.
  • Improving academic outcomes by integrating real-world learning experiences into the core curriculum.

As a Coach, you’ll play a pivotal role in all these goals, working shoulder-to-shoulder with educators to co-plan lessons, model dynamic instruction, and build enduring partnerships that outlast any single training day.

Candidates selected will become part of our Coaching Corps, working with Out Teach on an as-needed basis. We welcome applications from candidates that are able to work remotely and in-person in Denver, CO.

Requirements:

What You’ll Do:

  • Facilitate meaningful, hands-on professional learning and job-embedded coaching, whether that be virtual or in person.
  • Guide teachers on best practices for facilitating cross-disciplinary teachings outdoors, leading with science.
  • Coach teachers on how to design and deliver lesson plans using the 5E instructional model across a range of STEM content areas.
  • Embed outdoor learning into school culture and collaborate closely with teachers and Out Teach to deliver transformational results.

Who You Are:

  • A seasoned educator with at least five years of elementary teaching experience, including three years of real-world learning outdoors.
  • A skilled instructional leader and coach, or potential to be one, who can inspire teachers and build strong, professional relationships.
  • Flexible, mission-driven, and ready to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment where innovation is not just welcomed - it’s expected.
  • Relationship-oriented individual with a growth mindset and see challenges as learning opportunities.

Why Out Teach:
Out Teach isn’t just redefining what classrooms can look like, we’re redefining what teaching can be. Join a team that’s building a future where every child has the opportunity to thrive through hands-on science learning, and every teacher has the support to lead boldly. Are you ready to take the classroom outside and bring your career to new heights?
