PHYSICAL EDUCATION / HEALTH  & WELLNESS TEACHER  - FULL TIME - 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

Celebrate the Children School is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time Physical Education/ Health and Wellness Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.

Celebrate the Children is a well-respected, non-profit, state-approved private school for children with alternative learning styles that has been providing quality education services to the community for over twenty years. At Celebrate the Children, our teachers are surrounded by staff who are caring, compassionate, and dedicated to our program philosophy. Though CTC is a state-approved private school, CTC still requires applicable NJDOE certifications.


This position will have a primary focus on health/wellness instruction, while also providing Physical Education instruction to students across our program. The Health & Wellness Instructor / Physical Education Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with special needs, ranging from Pre-K through age 21.


The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of health, wellness, and physical education principles and the ability to adapt instruction to meet a wide range of student abilities and learning needs. This individual should be committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment that encourages students to develop healthy habits, physical skills, and an understanding of overall wellness.

Requirements Include:
  • Strong understanding of health, wellness, and physical education principles

  • Substantial knowledge of Special Education practices

  • Ability to develop and adapt instruction for students with a wide range of learning and developmental needs

  • Commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive learning environment

  • Valid NJDOE Teacher of Health (Health Education) and/or Health & Physical Education Certification. Students with Disabilities Endorsement a plus but not required.

This is a 10-month position with required participation in Celebrate the Children's Extended School Year (ESY) program.

The anticipated salary range for the 10-month school-year position is $59,166-$93,640. ESY is compensated separately based on the employee's applicable ESY rate and scheduled ESY hours. 


A salary range is provided in accordance with New Jersey pay transparency laws. Final salary is determined using a structured salary grid, taking into account years of relevant experience and educational qualifications, and is subject to the maximum limits established by the New Jersey Department of Education and the discretion of the Board of Directors.
