Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external guests while maintaining a professional and welcoming environment.
  2. Understand and follow all company, departmental, and regulatory policies and procedures including MICS, TDA Rules, and House Rules.
  3. Operate tournament systems including Bravo and ITCS for registration, player tracking, dealer rotation, and payouts.
  4. Execute all tournament registration processes, including verifying player identification, processing buy-ins, and maintaining accurate records.
  5. Handle and safeguard all tournament funds, including balancing banks, preparing deposits, and reconciling discrepancies.
  6. Coordinate and assist in tournament setup including tables, chips, seating, signage, and equipment.
  7. Monitor tournament play to ensure compliance with TDA Rules, House Rules, and overall game integrity.
  8. Communicate effectively with dealers, players, and management to ensure smooth tournament operations.
  9. Assist with tournament flow including table balancing, player movement, and event pacing.
  10. Perform chip inventory control, race-offs, and chip recovery procedures.
  11. Prepare and execute tournament payouts, including verifying identification and ensuring compliance with tax requirements.
  12. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and security of tournament areas.
  13. Notify management of any irregularities, suspicious activity, or operational issues.
  14. Assist with reporting, documentation, and post-event reconciliation.
  15. Support special events, including charity or off-site tournaments.
  16. Comply with BSA/AML regulations and internal controls.
  17. Stand, walk, or remain active for extended periods.
  18. Lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds as required.
  19. Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Work Experience Required:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of poker, casino, or tournament operations experience preferred.

Education:

  • High School Diploma and/or equivalent required.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to speak, read, and understand English.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to learn and operate tournament software systems.

Must possess an ability to work with minimal supervision and make educated ethical decisions as necessary.  Must be able to resolve conflicts and have effective communication skills with all levels of employees and be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. Must demonstrate an ability to work independently and to prepare detailed professional correspondence, memoranda, policies, procedures and regulations related to the employee’s duties. A general knowledge of the Windows based computer operating systems is also required.

SCHEDULED HOURS

Commerce Casino operates 24 hours, 7 days a week. Schedules may vary depending on business needs. Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
