Position Overview
This is a DOT-related position and will be subject to the FMCSA regulations. The primary duty of the Traffic Control Supervisor is to coordinate and inspect traffic control set-ups for conformance with approved traffic control plans, MUTCD guidelines and local entity requirements. Complete all required internal paperwork.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations of the Company and particularly the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
  • Supervise/assist TCT/laborer/driver in traffic control responsibilities
  • Coordinate TCT assignment with dispatch
  • Make deliveries, pick-ups and job checks in a safe, efficient, and timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and timely Pre-Trip and Post Trip Inspection Paperwork
  • Efficiently communicate with all levels of people - employees, customers, accident information, maintenance service schedules, etc.
  • Conduct themselves in a manner that promotes a professional and respectful atmosphere, and ensure that the service encounter with the customer is an exceptional experience
  • Perform a needs assessment when speaking with customers to translate their requests into our related products
  • Maintain delivery/pickup tickets
  • Learn/Responsible for safe lifting, loading, unloading of equipment to and from trucks
  • Keep company vehicles clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems
  • Flexibility to work various schedules and stay late, when necessary, with little or no notice. Able to work mid and night shifts
  • Arrive to work site on time wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), e.g., hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, masks, and earplugs as required, and when applicable, a respirator
  • Adhere to all Company Policies and Procedures
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Must hold and be able to maintain CCA or ATSSA TCS Certification
  • Ability to read maps and knowledge of local streets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with team members inside and out of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated; capable of taking initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
  • A passion for working in a high growth business as the pace and expectations of the culture
  • A passion for success, a positive and friendly attitude and a consistent work ethic are all a must
  • A strong knowledge of the traffic control/construction industry is a major plus.
  • Willing to travel as needed

Work Settings/Description of Environmental Hazards Encountered
  • Highways, city, and county roads. Working around moving vehicles on roadways and around moving heavy equipment at road construction site.

Travel
  • Daily travel to and from worksite, some overnight travel may be necessary.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions / varying temperature, e.g., exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, dry and / or windy conditions.
  • Minimum lifting requirements is 35lbs.
  • Work includes prolonged and repeated lifting (including overhead) up to 35lbs., standing, walking, climbing, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and feeling, climb and balance, crouching and crawling.
  • Working safely requires quick/accurate hand-eye coordination
  • Able to stand for extended periods of time, 8 to 10 hrs. per day up to 6 days per week

Requirements
  • Valid Driver's License and clean MVR **Must maintain a valid driver's license during entire employment**
  • Pass pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
  • Satisfactory results of pre-employment background check
  • Pass medical fit-for-duty test; hold/obtain DOT medical card
  • Must hold current TCS certification or be eligible to procure certification
  • Willing and able to work out of our Denver, Aurora & Colorado Springs location, when needed.
