Job Summary
Assists patrons in the use of library resources and services, maintains the library collections, and supports information literacy through one or more specialized librarian roles.
Essential Duties
Catalogs materials for both the library and college archives collections.
Ensures institutional continuity by maintaining a reciprocal backup relationship with the Systems Librarian and engaging in ongoing cross-training in systems functions.
Actively collaborates across the institution by serving on library and college-wide teams and committees and maintaining liaison relationships with faculty in assigned academic disciplines.
Leads and oversees technical services staff responsible for cataloging and materials processing.
Maintains expertise in cataloging standards and library systems; proactively evaluates, implements, and supports new and emerging technologies.
Provides training and ongoing guidance to library staff on the use of the catalog and library systems.
Maintains the organizational structure and content standards for college-wide and departmental SharePoint sites.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Library Science or Information Science.
3 years professional library experience with concentrated experience in cataloging and technical services.
Strong information technology skills including knowledge of and comfort with educational technologies, such as presentation and collaboration tools, web course management software, library management systems, discovery applications, and effective search strategies.
Demonstrated strong writing, speaking, presenting, and interpersonal skills in person and online.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications.
Experience with Worldshare Management Systems (WMS).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Springshare applications.
