Role Mission: Through the work of the Testing Coordinator, teachers and leaders can feel confident in the data-driven decisions they are making. These decisions help IDEA Public Schools achieve the goal of our mission of supporting 100% of scholars as they proceed to and through college. Testing Coordinators support this work by ensuring that 100% of students take all appropriate tests in an environment conducive to standardized testing. TCs also work with campus partners to ensure that students take all eligible tests with approved accommodations. When this work is executed successfully, the leadership team can focus on both the social-emotional support of students as well as family engagement.

Compensation: 

  • Compensation for this role is set at an hourly rate ranging between $21.56 for 0 years of experience and $26.95.

We offer a comprehensive benefits plan, covering the majority of the employee premium for the base medical plan and subsidizing the majority of costs for a spouse/domestic partner and children. Some of the special benefits we offer at IDEA include:

  • Paid Family Leave: Eligible staff may receive up to 8 weeks of paid leave for the birth or adoption of a child, based on their tenure with the organization and caregiver designation.
  • Tuition Reimbursement: Staff members may apply for up to​ 50% of tuition paid toward a qualifying degree program, up to $5,250 maximum per year subject to manager discretion and budget availability.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma; 48+ College Credit hours preferred
  • Experience: Educational experience preferred, but testing experience valued; Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PPT, etc.) preferred

What You’ll Do -- Accountabilities

 

Campus earns an A rating by the Texas Education Agency 

  • 100% of students at the school/campus have high quality testing environments for district, state, and national tests, allowing them to perform to their best ability.
  • TC will attend 100% of scheduled trainings with the national Assessment Team
  • TC is responsible for owning their learning by actively participating in the TC TEAMS group and scheduled trainings, reviewing training materials after the training (especially if they missed the training), reading the weekly Testing Coordinator Newsletter, and all other assigned required testing manuals and/or documents.
  • TC will create and communicate the campus testing plan for every district, state and/or national assessment administration to their manager, lead team, teachers, and staff, in accordance to the timelines presented by the National Assessment Team
  • TC is responsible for communicating the testing schedules and any other applicable updates to students’ parents/families
  • TC is responsible to coordinate with campus IT technician to ensure all computers used for online testing are updated and ready prior to test day.
  • TC ensures all applicable campus staff and students have access to the appropriate online testing system
  • TC prepares 100% of testing bins 72 hours in advance of the district, state and/or national testing date. This includes small group testing and obtaining supplemental materials from the appropriate special programs point person at the school ahead of time.
  • TC reviews all testing bin contents with test administrator 2 days prior to the testing date and ensures the administrator understands how they will be implemented.
  • TC and the applicable school special population point person (SPED, ELL, 504, RTI) audit all accommodation and supplemental materials prior to the testing date
  • TC processes and manages the state assessment materials following district guidelines and is responsible for checking state assessment materials in and out from the National Assessment Team
  • TC audits 100% of paper state test booklets and paper answer documents with 1 test-security trained lead team member to ensure all student information, including demographics, is correct before returning to the National Assessment Team
  • TC is responsible for on-time execution of 100% of all deliverables requested by the National Assessment Team, which include, but are not limited to: data reporting, student counts by test/grade level/subject, computer needs for online testing, and any other requested information for students participating in district, state and/or national tests at their school/campus.
  • TC may also be appointed by the principal as the school’s designated ACT Test Coordinator, preACT Test Coordinator and/or AP Coordinator.

 

Less than 0.2% irregularities on state and national assessments at each assigned school (Academy and College Preparatory separately)

  • TC will lead all campus testing training to teach staff the district, state, and/or national assessment policies and procedures for execution of testing
  • TC will schedule biweekly meetings with each school special point person to ensure all approved accommodations have been entered/updated in the applicable system by the district-designated deadlines.
  • TC will schedule meetings with each test proctor at least 2 days ahead of the test to ensure the proctor properly implements approved accommodations to the correct students, to ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines for special populations
  • TC will oversee all testing sessions to ensure test proctors, test support staff and other staff maintain compliance to the policies and procedures of testing
  • TC will ask for and provide feedback to test support staff, proctors and leaders after each testing session to capture the feedback and act on improvement suggestions for the next testing session to improve the experience of students during testing
  • TC will set up and monitor all online testing systems and testing implementation for the school/campus to ensure 100% of students are tested in the appropriate format and with the approved accommodations, if applicable
  • TC will partner with the campus IT tech to ensure 100% of equipment is prepared for online assessments 48 hours in advance of the test
  • TC will lead the investigation of irregularities at the campus level and will report all incidents to the National Assessment Team by close of business on the day the incident occurred, following the district-designated guidelines

 

98% completion rates of all assessments by deadlines stated on the assessment calendar

  • TC ensures 100% of teachers and leaders have access to all assessment systems required to access and administer tests, and analyze student data
  • TC will update all Edcite Distribution Groups for the classes at their school/campus to ensure the teacher of record has access to district exams
  • TC will serve as the primary point person at the campus for all testing systems, and will train and support the use of those systems at the campus level
  • TC will monitor the scanning of assessments to ensure the campus meets the 95% multiple choice components scanned within 24 hours of testing
  • TC will track and monitor testing to ensure 100% of eligible students complete all applicable assessments
